O' Driscoll admits he is interested in bringing Ipswich striker Jonathan Stead to Keepmoat Stadium....FOOOK THAT !!! GET IN THERE DAVEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Strike force sorted. Simple. Stop kidding yourself and move on from what we have got...which is average at best! ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!!!!!! GET ON BLOWER NOW!!!! DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!! (
It's all well and good. Saying sign John Stead, he's the answer to all our striking problems. But you've got weigh it all up. 1). How much is Stead going to cost. 2). How much will Stead want? 3.) Why the hell don't struggling Ipswich deem him good enough to represent them? I've seen Stead a few times, and he's always impressed me. However, that's only from the few times that I've seen him. I haven't had the advantage of seeing him week in, week out and also in training. Surely, if he isn't good enough for a struggling Ipswich side, where Roy Keane has put him in the 'Underperforming' bracket, then why should he be good enough for us? The last thing we need, is another overpaid, overrated prima-donna who isn't bothered about playing for the club, and who only turns up when he wants to. We've have enough and we've had enough.
that be the John Stead on about 20k a week at Ipswich, being scouted by the club that lost £3.5M last year and will lose as much over the next season?
maybe not but he's 6 years younger we should never have got gray i said a few week ago we should have got stead instead but i was shot down and told not to be stupid as we cant aford him and hes not for sale
RE: It's all well and good. Roy Keanes "Underperforming bracket"... Whos gives a **** about that bracket.. The mans a plank! 13 goals in 26 starts last year! Scores, works his socks off, brings others into play, hes young and improving! You've been watching a different Jon Stead to me pal. " we've have, we've had, you've have, who've have... weigh my arse up! "
Is that the same Jon Stead who Donny Rovers are lining up? You spoke to Jon about these 20k a week wages. At this moment in time in Steads career we'd have a chance and would be paying no more than we did for Gray. He'd be hungry for it and want to prove a point to the legend that is Roy Keane and his Underperforming bracket!
Fair enough. If he scores, works his socks off, brings others into play, and is also young and improving. Then why is he deemed surplus to requirements at an Ipswich side who are struggling, just like we are? Like I said, I haven't had the advantage of watching Stead, week in, week out, but It's pretty obvious to all that for the money he is earning, and the effort that he is supposedly giving, just isn't enough. Roy Keane; a plank? Hmmm, he's also the man who took Sunderland to the Premiership and who's captained one of the finest teams to ever grace the footballing planet. Yeah, some plank; knows nothing.
RE: Fair enough. So... You wouldn't take Jon Stead at reasonable price on wages that are within our budget ? Who's told you about all this money he's earning...I missed something? Is this the same Roy Keane who hasn't won a game in charge of Ipswitch yet at 6 attempts? I blame Stead!
I'd be willing to take him on loan. You know, see how it goes. Then I could make a fair assessment on the lad.
RE: I'd be willing to take him on loan. Ok.. You go on about why we'd want a player from a struggling Championship side. Tell me why Roy Keane splashed out 1.7million on Watfords Tamas Priskin? He came from a struggling Watford side last year, who finished 8 points behide Ipswitch. He started alot more games than Stead but yet scored the same amount of goals? Keanes got money to spend this year and he wants his own men, Its called FOOTBALL, generally how it works. "surplus to requirements at Ipswitch" load of B*ll*cks. You talk way too much, but mostly full of ****.
dont want another we got bogdanovic odejayi sodje macken adam hume gray coulson if got him i think we need to get rid of 4 of them no point havin 9strikers
How old are you? You have the grammatical ability of a four year old retard. Anyways, back on topic. Tamas Priskin is four years younger than Jon Stead, and even then, £1.7 million for me was way too much for him. Again, I'm not saying Stead is a bad player; far from it. If you'd actually have read my initial reply, you would have seen that I said, and I quote myself here: "I've been impressed when I've seen Stead". However, it doesn't matter If I was impressed with him or not, I can only go by what his manager has said and subsequently done. For me, we should be aiming for the best that we can buy with our money. If Jon Stead is the best that we can buy, then so be it, buy him. But from the rumours that I've heard, and extrapolation from the past, I'd hazard a big guess, that mister Stead is on a nice little package at Ipswich. Let's not forget, that this is a man that has played for Sunderland, Blackburn and Sheffield United; notoriously big wage payers. I really don't think, and neither does Mr Keane for that matter, that Stead justifies the money that he is earning. If, like you said, we could bring him in for a reasonable package, then maybe, just maybe the deal would be feasible; however, I, like yourself, don't know the finances available, so let's stop spit-balling. I feel I made myself quite clear, and was quite amicable, by saying that a loan deal for Stead would be a good move. Again, let me reiterate, that of the times I've seen him, I've been impressed and a loan deal would be perfect for taking a good look at the lad, and proceeding from there. If he can put the ball in the net on a regular basis, he'll do for me. I hear your argument about Keane having money to spend, however, if Stead really is as good as everyone is making out. I.e. 1 goal every 2 games (you said that) and Ipswich are crying out for a goalscorer, then why isn't he playing? Strange one that. Fair enough, Keane may one to bring in his own men, but jesus christ, I'm as sure as anyone else, that a man of his ability would be able to recognize a goalscorer right under his nose. Would he not? We need a goalscorer, and whether or not Andy Gray will prove to be that goalscorer remains to be seen. Time will tell.
The same Jon Stead that made our defenders look daft? Come on now, a retarded blind clown could make our defenders look daft.
I'm afraid you're mistaken. I merely asked how old simo was, because every single reply I've given to him, has resulted in him clearly not reading a thing I've said, and implying that I don't know what I'm talking about. That's all. I take time to read peoples posts, and give a genuinely thought out answer. To not have that read, and simply be ignored, in favour of the original posters own beliefs, is a little rude. Don't you agree? It's one thing not agreeing with someone, but it's another completely not to respect that, and then go on to berate someone because of it. Did you see, at all, anywhere in this thread where I told simo that he 'talked ****'...? No, didn't think so.
stop fookin kidding yourself odejayi or stead barnsley have to push the boat out now if they want to improve, lets get shut of the dross, odejayi, macken, devaney and bring someone in whos going to improve matters.should have gone for stead instead of gray.
