Took the pi55 out of Diouff in the first half. Going to be a great player, hopefully for us for the next few years.
going forward he was failry average, he has youth and pace at the mo, but I think his ultimate position is centre half
what's stones' contract? we'll have to sell. we just broke even, but turnover down over £2m. only player sales prevented us being in the red. but if he's on a longer contract, hopefully we can hang onto him for next season, then cash in.
this is good. hopefully no immediate pressure to sell in the next two windows then. prediction = michael brown to shatter his tibula in the last game of next season. £3m transfer down the pan
He's a Penistone lad, down to earth and loves being at the club, or so his best mate tells me. Certainly the most impressive youngster I've seen at the club since a young lad who Clarkey sold to Wednesday in the 80's.
He also said - Give Bobby a fcking testimonial you miserable set of c*nts!!! Then there was like loads of thunder and stuff. :nails:
He does indeed love being at the club, and knows it's the best place for him to keep developing, I would think we should be looking to hold onto him and make him a first team regular for the next two seasons (at the very least), by which time having signed a further new contract with an appropriate minimum release clause, he'll hopefully be worth even more. Or he'll have turned into Luke Potter. One or the other. Either way we shouldn't be talking about flogging our best young players the first time a decent offer comes in. How can we ever hope to build a side that might take us on to better success in the future on that basis? If all we can ever hope to be is a club that flits between the Championship and League One and sells it's best young players every year or every other year we may as well give it up now. Today showed that the team is wholly capable of climbing out of the mess they've got themselves into, however whether the club infrastructure is capable of raising it's game in the same way is another matter. Come on you Reds.
No disrespect to Luke Potter, but Stones is miles better. If we go down then i think we owe it to the lad to sell him on, he would be wasted in League 1. When i say sell him on, i of course mean get as much money possible. No less than £3 million.
Young lad, probably earning a cracking wage playing for his local team. Dont think we have anything to worry about. he'll stay as long as he can, but doubt he would ever go for nowt Zak hardaker at fevrovers always knew he was going to make it big so signed a five year contract the season before he went to leeds, making sure he looked after the club with a decent transfer fee.
He's a long way off being ready to go anywhere. He needs to be around his family and his mates for another couple of years. It's a scarey world out here y'know!!
