Looks like Wednesday making a £10m bid for Jordan Rhodes, what are the chances of Winnal actually getting on the bench, let alone starting?
Good. Even more money thrown at their desperate bid to reach the Prem. Make their failure to get there, and the subsequent derbies over the next few seasons, all the sweeter.
Someone fill me in on the background of Wednesday's owner(s)? How wealthy are they? Don't pay much attention to them. Is it likely that if they keep chucking money at failure they'll end up in financial trouble, or is the owner too rich?
Family wealth is £750m. Held by the owners father. The owner is one of two sons. The other owns a stake in reading. I wouldn't imagine he has endless pots of money. Not enough to lose circa £30m a year. He'll prob be gambling 30/40mil to get to prem and then either make a lot or sell at profit. Few more years at champ level they could be in trouble.
That's dollars mate, they're worth £560 million according to Forbes. Depends how much he's gave to their young un, hopefully he's not the favourite son.
They must be paying 150k a week just on their strikers . Its a gamble buying Rhodes cos it's 10m and 40k a week in wages .if it doesn't pay off they are well and truly ****ed !
