Thought the same myself mate, two very good right backs for the league I can’t see him been brought in for the first team if he does sign.
Andy Giddings @Gids1980 Understand #Barnsleyfc are close to signing right back Jordan Williams from #HTAFC. Medical happening today. Reps for Eng U18
Lots of positive stuff online about him and was previously linked to Newcastle. Seems like a big focus on building something long term which is great. Hopefully its a permanent deal. If its a loan, does that indicate an issue with McCarthy? Either a long term injury or maybe he is leaving?
Seems strange from there point of view letting a young prospect leave the club but there loss is our gain
Definitely a permanent, Huddersfield fans are baffled they seem to rate him very highly! Say he’s the brightest prospect they have.
No need to bring em through now mate with the prem money. They can buy the "already made" option... The lads progress will be blocked now at Hudders.. so for him and his family it'll be a no brainer coming here and wanting to come.. This is the true John Stones legacy.. Young players of a decent pedigree willing to come here.. Bet he's not far off first team either McCarthy out by t'morra maybe..
Too good to be sat on bench all time but just not as good as Cavare at the moment. Although too good for Bury IMO but then again would not want him out on loan to a rival in this league.
Very disappointing if McCarthy is about to be shipped out, both for us and the player. Especially if he ends up at Bury, considering he was by all accounts the best full back in League 1 two seasons ago.
Sounds like a real talent. And Jason McCarthy needs game time to keep developing so if Cavare is first choice and this lad is a bright young talent to develop behind him, then would make sense to loan Jason out.
McCarthy has been told he can leave. I'm surprised really as he has previously won player of the year at League One level and was supposedly one of the best full backs in League One. Maybe he doesn't see himself as backup to Cavare and wants first team football.
Shame for McCarthy. I like the lad. I guess if you want 1st team football and its not happening- a move is best for him and us. In DS we trust.
It seems to me that McCarthy's inability to prevent crosses is his Achilles heel. You would hope it's something that coaching could put right, but perhaps not.
