It was back to Bradshaw as lone striker in a 451 to start and we were poor, it only improved when Hammill went in the middle with Potts. Then at half time we went 442 for a while which didn't work and then took Mahoney off and put Moore on, if Mahoney was getting a game then Moore would have been ideal for him to play in to, I've no idea what the formation we went tothen.

He should have stuck to the 433 Hammill mcburnie and Moore upfront with Potts moncur and Gardner behind or Hammill with Potts and Mahoney with Moore and mcburnie.

Leeds were poor and if we had gone after them at the start then they would have folded and we would have comfortably beaten them.

Davies needs to be replaced I don't know how good Walton is but must be worth a try as Davies has gone. Pinnock or Jackson in or maybe both, Cavare back in, Yiadom to left back. Mills shouldn't have played.

Wrong team selection by Jose cost us today.

All that apart, I didn't see a team that is scrapping for their lives. Bitty performance, but no evidence that we're fighting to stay up.

For a short spell before half time, Leeds were wobbling, but that was about as good as it got.

Not good enough, not looking too bothered.

Too easy to blame the team selection and then formation.

Too many players not good enough and not doing enough

I agree but with bradshaw upfront on his own, bringing mahoney in , mills back and keeping davies we didnt give ourselves any sort of chance.

If we had gone with what we all know is our best team and formation and still lost I could accept that.

Bradshaw did very little apart from chase around after their defenders. I thought Mahoney was doing OK before he took him off.

In his interview Morais said Bradshaw did the best he could.

Pinnock must be really peed off, after playing so well and then finding himself behind the stop gap in the pecking order.

433 with Gardner behind moncur and Potts, Hammill mcb and Moore up top, defence whatever. It's not awe inspiring but since Jose took over it's our most productive I think.

Agree with all of that, it was passionless.

As you say they were there for the taking just before half-time, our shackles had temporarily been loosened with the move of Hammill into the middle and Mahoney improving out wide. Unfortunately when we came out for the second-half it looked and felt that the half-time team talk must have been mind-numbingly soporific and served only to confirm that the rigid uninspiring defensive 4-5-1 must be stuck to at all costs. Anyone knows that Hecky teams are traditionally vulnerable either side of half-time and we declined to take the advantage and maintain our initiative, ultimately our downfall.

Mahoney had started to have a couple of decent runs and get crosses in but on what planet is putting your big aerial threat on and taking off the lad who looked most likely to supply him good management? Unbelievable. Particularly as Bradshaw had had less than zero impact and Potts a heavily negative one.

Mahoney also supplied the cross for Oli's disallowed goal. Take note again Jose, the only time our best threat of a goal was in the centre of the penalty area the whole game he put the ball in the net (albeit chalked off). Oli McBurnie is our best chance of staying up but no way on this earth is he a left-winger, not in a three and most absolutely not in a 4-1-4-1 or 4-5-1.

You have an international centre forward who you know can score for fun if given his head and you play him out wide so remote from the danger zone as to totally neutralise his threat - for that alone you need to go Jose.

Absolutely. Pinnock was playing well before his injury and was a goal threat too. Mills is only a goal threat at our end.

I really don't agree with that. Last time we won a game and scored the goals to win that game when Moncur was on the pitch was back in November. In the three games we've won since he came on in the 74th minute at Sunderland when we were already 1-0 up which was the final score. He didn't feature at all at Birmingham. He was subbed when we were 2-1 down against Sheff Utd after which we went 4-4-2.

Not particularly picking on Moncur, just using it as an example of why I don't think such a set-up is very productive. I don't think 4-3-3 in general is very productive. It's only the Birmingham game where it's got us a result. Sheff Utd were killing us second half until we put Hammill on the wing to stop Yiadom being overrun and shoved Bradshaw upfront alongside Moore to give us an attacking threat. Moore crossed for Bradshaw to head the winner. Two up front combining for a winning goal. Who knew?

This is a ridiculous question to ask, given that we all "know" it.

It is not a secret, therefore, that it is:

    Davies

    Yiadom Jackson Lindsay Christknows

    Randomchap Gardner-perhaps Notsure

Isthatallwevegot Moore Scot bloke on loan

I just don't think we are strong enough with this squad in 442, we have pushed a front 2 or front 4 when we have been chasing an equaliser but we looked weak when Bradshaw plays in place of Moore and if you play both up top then you are playing mcburnie as an out and out winger which he definitely is not but in a 433 he can drift in from wide. Our main struggle has been not having a strong enough centre mid which has dictated all season our success.

But do we all know the best team? I very much doubt it, if we did it would be very simple to select and sadly it doesn't guarantee that we would win.
