When I saw recently he was back I was thinking he could be our Herbie Kane replacement for next season but if he’s never fit, then that’s not going to work is it. How long is this injury do we know? If it’s a shortish one then he needs to make sure he has a proper pre season to get him ready for the league 1 campaign. Pretty sure he’s got another year left on his contract and nobody is going to buy an injured player so not much we can do really.
Only if we agree to pay up his last season or another club willing to take him on which seems unlikely. Think he will be here still unless we can negotiate something with him
It's rotten luck for Josh, but looking at it harshly, we're not a charity are we as a club. Surely we've got to cut our losses and look for a release. Good luck to him either way though.
Lad needs to retire, his body obviously isn’t up to professional football. We face another 12 months of paying his wages before that. Depressing thought when we need to strengthen in the summer.
No chance he would do that if another club are willing to pay thousands a week mate, he'll be hard-pressed to find another job where he earns as much. I understand people saying release him, but he has another year, we're going to have to pay him regardless of whether he is here or not, so he may as well stay in the very little hope he actually contributes. I do feel sorry for him football-wise.
I get frustrated when we have players who are constantly injured, but it’s obviously not their fault. It must be awful for the guys themselves, as most just want to play (except for a couple of Belgian guys who I don’t support).
Might as well pay his contract up, apparently he is one of highest paid, , i wouldn't mind 4 figure wage packet every week for doing nowt
I bet he would rather be playing and trying to prove himself. He must have had some really bad times mentally, as his lack of luck is bound to have affected him.
Somewhat harder being injured than fit, injured players are usually in every day with the physios then rehab work, then gym work and strengthening. Trust me turn in at 9am couple hours training, lunch and some tactical/Shape work and off at 2pm is far easier. He's probably at that stage due to lack of minutes and sharpness he's picking up little muscle injuries all the time, feel for the lad tbh
If he stays we pay him, but he is not going to play so legally we have to pay his contract up to get him out,and make room for some one who wants to play for us
But thats my point, we are no better off financially whether he stays or goes mate. So unless he accepts a lower fee, we may as well keep him ?
