He was very highly rated when he made his debut for Preston years ago, played a fair few games for them. Had a good season last year, probably the best of his career. 25 year old. Hopefully doesnt mean Cadden isn't signing a new contract as I'd expect us to sign someone on loan for back up and then have a proper look in summer after seeing which league we would be in
Yes, played there regularly this season. Had good games against Portsmouth and Wycombe last couple of weeks. Wonder if that's where we plan on playing him then instead of replacement for Cadden long term?
Possibly if true bud. As I said I just expected with us needing lb cover (depending on styles obviously) he'd be touted for that position, whilst we still have a million CBs on the books that is. Although Mccarthy is loaned out, hopefully they're paying his full wages. Good signing regardless imo
Yeah, mainly playing on the left of three centre backs in recent weeks, left back prior. It’s a yes from me, a signing of someone who isn’t a child who has experience at the level we are playing. Tall, presumably pretty mobile if he’s also a full back - all signings are a risk but this one looks to have a decent chance of working out if it comes off.
I don't know anything about him, but he's the sort of player we should be looking at. In a position where we need someone, good experience at this level and some above. I'd be happy with this one.
Great if true. Still at a good age, versatile and knows the league. Absolutely ideal. Should add some more height and mobility at the back. Collins obviously wants his wide CBs to be able to bring it out from back. As we see with the Cole goal against Carlisle where Williams brought it out and got the assist. Earl should be able to offer that from the LCB role and can cover for cadden if needed.
Remember seeing him when he first got in the Preston team as a youngster and thinking he was someone who would really kick on and be a top player. Really good signing in my opinion, ticks a lot of boxes. Plus last 6 months of his contract so shouldn’t cost the earth.
Think they have the option of another year on the contract but I suppose if he’s said he wants to join us (or anyone) then they possibly wouldn’t activate at this stage.
