    Also, in 2008...........

He got another commendation for courage whilst on duty (Y) What other former Barnsley players have become policemen? I can recall Peter Price and Peter Springett - i think Springett had summat to do with football liaison at Bramall Lane? (chinny)

Remember him well, think it was Blackburn away laste 80's in the old Div 2. He looked great, took the piss out of their full back and was described as a "long haired eccentric winger" in the press the next day. Currie played that day too. That was the good old days when we were battling Barnsley, fans and players united against the world.

Broddle moved on to Scnuthorpe, a familiar path for our under-achievers.

    We bought Broddle from Scnuthorpe

We sold him to Plymouth for £100,000, which must have been one of the best bits of business the club has ever done. He didn't last long at Plymouth before moving up to Scotland where he played for various clubs.

    They could have

described it as a raging river for him. "Without thought for their own safety, PC Broddle and Janet jumped into the stream" sounds like they splashed into six inches of water.
