En route from Leeds to Sheffield - via Lundwood,Cundy Cross, Barnsley, Darton, Kexbrough, Chapeltown. Who's going to take a look? Even better, anyone taking part?

Don't think they've announced the torch-bearers yet. I've nominated a couple of people who got past the first stage, so hopefully they will be involved.

Not going through Dodworth I see

Bloody typical. Boycott the entire event I say.

Who are the torch-bearers? Members of the public or sports people?
Be nice to see Sir Bobby carrying it thru Lundwood..

Torch bearers will be a mix of people nominated (e.g. People who are regarded as inspirational to their peers) , people who have been nominated by sponsors, ... E.g. I think Barclays Bank have a number of slots where good causes can nominate people. No doubt there will be a few celebs etc sling the way.
Nominations had to be in months ago. I nominated a lad with a learning disability in Sheffield who has been involved in a lot of the projects we run. He's a superb role model, and if he gets a slot it will be a dream come true for him.

Councillor Houghton definately deserves to do the tarn leg on recognition of all his fine work done for the community.

People nominated aren't expected to find out if they've been picked until Feb 2012. Seb Coe was on radio this morning on about it.

Not interested in Olympics at all here, it's for them down South ain't it? (Paid for in part by our taxes).

Couldn't give a toss about London 2012. Maybe that will change nearer the time, but I don't see the fuss about it. Spending billions of pounds we just don't have on something that lasts three weeks. Those billions wasted on London 2012 could make an hell of a difference to hospitals, police force, fire brigade, creating new jobs etc. I don't feel at all nostalgic about an event happening four hours south of here. It's basically something for the south of England, with overpriced tickets and by the sounds of it a **** poor way of distributing them. I don't know why anyone would want to stand about in the streets and watch someone they don't know carrying a damn torch.

For the work you've done in the past, and continue to do presently, it would be thoroughly deserved.
And, for once, I'm not bull****ting you.
