Been following the high profile court case of the former Welsh Football Manager.
After 4 days of deliberation the Judge has said she will accept a Majority Verdict if at least 10 of the remaining 11 jurors agree. (One discharged because of illness.)
Clearly there has been a difference of opinion between the jurors but why are they still 'deliberating' after 4 days?
I would guess that after a maximum of 2 days at most individual jurors would have made their minds up re guilty/not guilty and if they can't reach a verdict then that's their conclusion.
So why are they still in discussion 4 days on ?

The longer it drags the more it looks like he won't be found guilty, which I thought would always be the case. Yes he's an awful bloke but the court has made them sound as bad as one another. It's definitely not clear cut enough to send someone down (as much as it would be nice to see).

Not researched the recent history, so what happens if he's found not guilty, does he get the Welsh gig :D back for the WC, is Rob Page just lookin after it for him, or was he made permanent?

Yes, Page has been permanent since June(ish?) When giggs officially stepped down mate. Theyre playing much better under Page anyway so I reckon its what the majority wanted

Rob Page (Rhondda Valley boy) will lead the Taffs out on 21 Nov v USA - 25 Nov v Iran and 29 November (8 pm) for their game v England in Qatar.
Page done a brilliant job as Manager -
(Giggs record as Wales manager from Jan 2018 to the time of his arrest Nov 2020 - played 29 - W14 D6 L9)

Clearly, you've never done jury duty, it's unpaid for one. They will pay up to £65 a day (reduced to £32.47 if you spend less than 4 hours there) towards your wage/childcare costs for 'loss of earnings' if you would normally be working on that day but it's up to your work if they want to voluntarily top it up to your normal wage or not.

And don’t get your hopes up for expenses either. When I did it they wouldn’t pay Milage or car parking, only bus fares but then only on receipts so if you drove and parked you got nothing not even the cost of the bus fare. Fortunately for me the company paid my normal wage. And I only finished up doing one 2 day trial. So only lost a couple of days work + a few hours when going in and been sent home again. It’s not a cushy getting paid for nothing job.
I think if the Jury can’t agree a new trial is needed with a new jury.

I may be completely misreading the issues of this trial here but it seems to me it's not really worthy of time it's taking.
The whole case seems to be that the accused is a bit of a Tw@! While his defence seems to be the "victim" was also a bit of a Tw@!.
Someone is wasting their time, could it be everyone?

Because it's hard to be 100% certain of your position? You discuss it as a jury.

It’s a long time to leave a jury in a relatively short trial. Not sure exactly how long they have been deliberating for or whether there have been jury questions or indications of deadlock.
Even were there to be stalemate after the majority direction the judge can still encourage the jury to press on and strive to reach a verdict - a Watson direction, quite rare though in recent times.
If it is hung I’d expect the Crown to go again with a re-trial.

Given the evidence that has been presented a conviction should be unlikely (though anything can happen with a Jury)
That's not me saying that he is not guilty or guilty just that I'm surprised its in court with so little evidence.
Perhaps either way it's served its purpose and shown what a horrible man he is.
