I magine a rookie (ME) not been in long, just started learning ,how to march,how to kake your boots shine ,and polish your brasses..its NAAFI break 11 am,i am wlaking smarlty to the Naffi,i spots the SGT MAJOT at the end of the road,so i walk as smart as i can,,,,im hundred yards from him,i see him looking hard at me,(WHY I WONDER)then he shouts pointing at me come here...he says your belt Buckles are the wrong way round...how he spotted me amonst all the others i still dont know(i reckon he was tipped off).......Now come with me to the the SUEZ CANAL 1954, i had just been to Korea,where i never knew what days it was....i got to this camp where it was and BULL sh i had lost it,i could not get back into the Bull ways,,,always last always in trouble, i did not have long to do ,i think they gave me up...on this day there was going to be a big parade we were going to be inspected by the GENERAL,no less...now we are lined up,we are inspected by the Seargant , he says t me your rifle sling is the wrong way round,where is your bayonet scabbardm(they did not give me one)so i change it the rifle sling,thenwe are inspected again by the COLONEL no less, he gets to me ,your rifle sling is the wrong way round,,where is you bayonett scabard,...i start to change things,im told get a bayonet scabbard, by the time ive got sorted, the are off,they have left me...i dont go on the Parade.....and im not sorry......as i said before i finish up sweeping the FFFin Desert ...
