just a few thoughts about yesterday

first half. we didn't play well at all. not sure what the plan was. Hull played some decent stuff but to be honest i never really felt they would cut Barnsley apart. The goal, only really seen it once and a quick glimpse on screen but yes stones maybe could have done better well that's what people said next to me. Steele should have done better though imo. it was in his range for him just to palm it away. It was one of many things from what some where calling Englands number one (Was't even best English keeper on pitch) that made me either put my head in my hands or shake it with it down. kicking well kicking. Shockingly bad. Coming out for crosses, just have had cement in his boots because he didn't come for balls in the six yard box where Amos was coming a long way for crosses, maybe 6/7 yards. Also we had another Nathan Doyle york city incident it seemed. on that day doyle shouted at him twice, pass me the ******* ball. obviously i couldn't tell if that was said yesterday but it looked like it with Craine.

second half. i thought we played much better and did a lot right. Maybe he should have put Big Marlon on earlier but who knows. we just made the wrong decision in the final third. Shooting when a pass for Dawson would have been better or maybe Silva taking too long to shoot.

Talked to a couple of Hull fans in put after goal and they said Steele should have done better. They also said they thought barnsley where going to get one in second half. We talked about Wiseman and i asked them a few questions about Amos who impressed me yesterday.

 

Amos impressed you? He claimed two crosses well but didn't make one save the entire game!

He came out and claimed to crosses Matt. Yes maybe you could tell Steele next time you see him he could also do that, its allowed in the rules. I thought his all round organisation was better too Matt. you can see why hes played for Manchester united and Steele didn't.

Consensus was Luke might have done better. No-one thought to mention it was his first game in 6-7 months. I saw it differently, though on telly so not lording.

Funny old summary that, Hemsworth. As it doesn't concur with the myriad of other summaries I've had from many other fans who were in attendance yesterday.
First off, your boy Stones made yet another costly mistake (he's bound to, he's needed a rest for weeks) but you didn't dwell on that. You instead chose to attack Steele, in some half-arsed attempt to be proven right.
The goal was deflected off Golbourne, I think, which didn't help Steele at all.
Alnwick would have dived under or over it btw.
And, seen as you were there, I'm sure you remember Luke making 2 or 3 quality saves, that kept the score respectable?

No wind up Merlin. I said last week that i thought Stones should have been left out. IMO hes not playing the natural game that made him really the first choice pick. It either isn't coming to him naturally or hes not playing naturally.

Or and i thought Silva looked good.
