Should be English. the players have to be so i think the manager should be. It's really just saying, all our Managers here are crap where managing a National side and a league side are two different entities. But. i still think it's wron to have a foreigner in charge and that has no racist bias at all just a little national pride.
I've stated the whole same thing since the announcement that Sven would be leaving after the world cup.... BUT.... My views quickly changed after the interviews got under way.... We don't have anyone at the moment that as a proven track record at club level, never mind international level. Hopefully 'Big Phil will get it. I do believe though that the likes of Pearce, Curbishley and Pardew should play some part in the set up... Whether this be under 17, 20 or 21. We need to start 'grooming a whole new crop of international managers for the next time they are needed.
Agreed to an extent I agree, the England manager should ideally be English. Better knowledge of the English game, and more national pride compared to a foreign manager (to whom it will just be a job, albeit a good one). However at present there is no-one who is up to it. All the English names in the frame are mediocre and uninspiring. Name one English manager who has won anything worthwhile at club level in the last 10 years. Exactly. You can only take the being English thing so far before you start biting off the nose to spite the face. So, if its Big Phil Scolari, then cool. He has the track record, and he should be more entertaining than Sven.
RE: Agreed to an extent He's always got his teams playing good attacking football, and hopefully he will make his judgement on players himself (and not the f.a or sponsors)
