Why on earth should we do that?

It's not as though he's poor, sick or in anyway in need of money!

    Honestly.

    I thought the same.

Yeah he's done a great job, good luck with him and all that. But money?

If some fans want to give a token of appreciation

I cant see anything wrong with that.
Some others dont want want to contribute and thats fine too.

Plenty of poeple that have done just as much if not even more for the club through the years.

Shall we have a collection for them too?

I'm just putting my pound coins into piles an hoping i've got enough of them.

I think the idea is to have a handful of cash with which to buy some keepsake tokenof respect and appreciation from the BBS. There's been a lot of criticism on here during his tenure and some people think we should put the record straight and let him know that we know how much he's done for the club.

Laura wanted to and will send a gift regardless.

Mr Shepherd has done quite a bit for her and for CFSN so she felt that it was only right that she repaid him in some way.

She decided that as he was leaving she would send/give him a token of her appreciation. When it was mentioned yesterday that maybe we ought to do something for him, she jumped at the chance, hence the post asking if anyone else wanted to contribute. After a few positive responses, she asked City tyke if it would be ok to have a collection box at the ground and has also asked Joanne (Gordon's PA) if she could have a word with Mrs Shepherd to see if there is anything he would like.

I have to say I applaud my daughter for doing this.

She is also prepared, despite her health, to sort out and deliver the gift(s).

She is well aware that not everyone sees eye to eye with Gordon and therefore it is purely voluntary if anyone wants to donate.

Hope they don`t go overboard and are very prudent within their budget when choosing this gift.

having a collection is a brilliant idea. they could then give the money to davey to waste on yet another forward and not play him.

I hope you don't think I was getting at you either..

I wanted to let posters know Laura's reasons and what she was trying to do.

Also that the idea is to buy a token gift from The BBS Community.

    As I say

    For no reward?

Shep hasn't been taking a salary from the club.

Isn't the collection being made by the Supporters Trust?

... as opposed to the BBS
