    How do we know that they didn't tell Foster that they'd like him to stay as a squad player if he was willing to take a pay cut and he turned us down straight away? Not saying he did but how do we know he didn't?

    We don't know anything. He's a loyal pro, but there are 101 replacements out there. I'm just a bit sad that he limped out how he did, without a send off. Cheers foz

    I'm pretty sure that would constitute "offering him a deal" in the way that Bristol City offered Stead a deal and he immediately refused it. It was still announced as him "declining a deal".
