Right this year could become a very expensive year. barnsley have changed all of there staff at first team level apart from the physio and he only came in the summer. they have got 5 people from rotherham who where all doing well. That alone would have been a very expensive thing for barnsley to do. barnsley also spent well this season bring a few players in on loan like dickinson, shotton, doyle, halfredson in. barnsley have agreement i think saying they can buy emil at the end of the season. in the summer davey was talking about a sum of 1 million pound for this player. they have also brought in andy gray and resigned player like rob kouzluk and macken. these 3 players are all very expensive and experienced players who will cost a bit and andy gray could even be barnsley highest earner. Before the season ends barnsley have also got a few contracts that are running out. from the top of my head i can think of 2 maybe 3. these are colace and anderson and maybe darren moore. I'm not sure about Moore but the other 2 are again very expensive but very good footballers and are very important for barnsley football club. these 2/3 will also be closer to the top then the bottom of the wage structure. so lets think think about guys we are a championship team with some very good players but we cant expect Mr cyrne to do it on his own.
Totally agree About time some money went into Mr Cryne's pocket, instead of coming out of it all the time (clap)
Isn't Barnsley a 'break-even' club? Sure last couple of years we have made a small profit although I havent seen the accounts so can't say for sure. I think therefore it will be 'Barnsley FC' funding the players and wages etc rather than Mr. Cryne personally.
we are only a break even club due to one person * fans play their part obviously But on the whole one mans money has bailed us. And I would think that sacking the manager and funding new staff / players wasn't factored into the business plan this year. I'd be surprised if the past month has been completely funded by the club and not had a csh injection from someone! Regardless, too many people have taken someone elses money for granted, in fact i've felt physically sick when some people have said on here that Cryne needs to 'get a striker bought', no one has the right to take him for granted. We have an opportunity to say cheers, get down, spend £25, win or lose.
Well said Hemsworth (clap) The Man Utd game is a great opportunity to get some money in the bank yet there are still fans moaning about paying a few extra quid on top of what they would pay to watch a league game.
RE: we are only a break even club due to one person There's no denying that he bailed us. He did. BIG TIME. And too right no one should take him for granted, as since he bought into the club we have been much more secure than other boom and bust type clubs. He has put more than his fair share into the club for a long time. But the fact is, Pat has always said he wants the club to be self-standing as a business, which I can only presume, to be the case now as we are break-even. I would be surprised if he was funding each transfer and the current wages from his personal finances these days. I'm pretty sure the club, knowing SD was on a 'final warning' at the end of last season, would have had some sort of provision for a change in manager. I agree though, he shouldn't be taken for granted and we should all be there with our £25 (Y)
perhaps we could open a bar in ponty end to benefit the club as im sure it would,if it was run as a working mens club imsure any brewery would want to finance that
I think you may find One or two going out the door at christmas, maybe some we don't expect. If Anderson and Colace don't sign or get new deals this autumn then one or both may leave while we can still get a couple quid for em. Also with the size of the squad my guess would be that once the ship is abit more steady then it will be cut down to a size we can sustain. Plus by then Robins will know who he don't want. Keep an eye on who spends a lot of time in the dugout to who may go..... JMV
How much is our revenue from Man Utd game? 23000 attendance x approximately £20 a ticket = £460,000. How much is Man Utd's share of these gate receipts? Also how much will we get from Sky? All this should help PC balance the books.
Well the extra say 4 quid a person I think BFC would get about 40%, so Manure will end up with 40% of the money you are all happy to dole out. So more like 23000 x 4 x 0.4 = £36,800 for breaking their word.
