For the Tories Heseltine at the time, and for Labour Dennis Skinner.

Shame John Smith didn't get the chance, but I didn't mind Blair.

    Last 20 years

    Thatcher
    Major
    Blair
    Brown

depends whether you mean liked as a person or liked as a PM
Hmm I think Major was probably a nice bloke but a rubbish PM

Dont like any of the other 3 at all full stop

Trouble is any PM is going to be a politician which is a bit of a problem.

I'd rather have kevin keegan - at least he'd give it a go for a bit - we would all have fun watching inflation soar but our wages rise as well - then after a bit he would chuck it in as too hard.

Blair has been the best PM in my lifetime

we will look back on his reign in time to come realising that we 'never had it so good.'

    Set that bar really high

Chosing the best between Thatcher Major Blair and Brown is like choosing the best striker playing for us at the moment

    In which case

When was the last, decent, elected PM?

Considering that Churchill was, by all accounts, poor as a peacetime leader.

    Clem Attlee, Harold Wilson

Churchill was a disaster in peace time.

    Which kind of suggests....

....it's impossible to be PM and be liked.
