my grandson Alfie (5) was taken in earlier this morning, it turns out it was croup. Airway inflammation. So glad I did not go off to Weston first thing. He is way more important than a football team.

Get well soon kid. We took our lad to A&E with croup when he was 3. It sounds terrifying when their breathing sounds like they are barking and you think they cant breath!

thankyou all...he is on the mend

they have given him some steroids and he is getting on fine.He is cursed with asthma so the croup certainly did not help the little guy.

My daughter called me from the hospital this morning to say where they were and would I bring them home. Despite his bad chest he managed to yell out like a pot hawker on Barnsley market...."GRAAAAAAMPS" ......when he saw me arrive at A&E

that my friends was priceless, and to say I had a lump in my throat is an understatement to say the least.

Glad he's OK DT. He's probably spent all day wondering why everyone is making a fuss
