In Cornwall.
Blazing sun, gale force winds, high humidity, torrential rain, mist, white morning mist and flash floods.
Typical Cornish and UK weather.
Absolutely fantastic.
Nowt like camping to recharge your stressed out batteries and regenerate your soul.
I love it with my heart and soul
On a cliff top overlooking the blue Atlantic, we go to the same site every year, their local is now our local and I have to admit I sampled the 'Rattlers' Cider by the bucket. Bloody gorgeous stuff.
Sat outside the tent in blazing sun watching the sun go down over the Atlantic, sipping ice cold Chablis.
Reading - I took my usual quota of 1 a day. got through 5 out of 7 so slacking through falling asleep in the sun.
Walked on cliff tops, done coastal walks, cooked, laughed, fallen over the guy lines and slept better than I ever do at home .
Bring on the next camping trip 4 days at Yedmandale near Scarboro 10th -14th August.
If you've never camped you don't know what you're missing!
I've not missed a lot BFC wise by the look of it and still not signed anyone.
Ah well, lets see what the next few days bring....
YooooooooooooooooReds!

Went to Porthleven a couple of weeks back Lovely. St Austell Tribute is more my cup of tea than Rattlers though.
RE: Went to Porthleven a couple of weeks back Revvie, our campsite is just down the road leading to Penzance, You wil have passed it, just before 'West Country Classic cars'. Porthlevin is one of my most favourite places on earth. I want to keep it secret really as it's almost like an undiscovered gem, apart from the 'Holiday Cottage 'people buying up all the houses and cottages for rentals. On a good day, there's no where more picturesque or beautiful. We went last Friday and the weather was blazing. Love Kenneggy Cove, Helston- the 'Blue Anchor' (you must have visited this!) and Penzance itself which is now maturing into a classy resort.
Is there anywhere better than Cornwall in Summer?- I think perhaps not, but then I'm trying to camp in more varied places. Glad you liked it. 'Steam Packet Inn' is where the Rattlers is! Next to the Classic Car garage!

RE: You just get drunk anywhere Lol
I love that description. I must remember that one Hee heee

Nice one Passed it loads of times. Kynance Cove is my favourite spot in all Cornwall. Didn't go into Helston much as all we needed was in Porthleven. The Blue Anchor is the brewpub, right? Only place we drank in Helston was the Seven Stars beer garden. The cottages are getting too expensive in the summer though so might take the tent next year
Same thing here but was further up in North Devon Usually go to Cornwall but fancied a slight change...........read no books !!! Spent most of my time in the sea body boarding or playing cricket on the beach.......bliss.
I'm a baby giant And i get drunk close to home , i cant stagger as far with the state my knees are in................... I'm a war pensioner you know !!! (raiseaglass)
Nice brew Oddly for Southern beers, the Tribute pumps all had sprinklers whereas the Doom Bar and Skinners beers were all sold Southern service method. Since the barstaff were inflexible on moving the sprinklers I became less flexible on what I drank. Pity, since I prefer darker, maltier bitters (even in Summer) but served dead flat with zero head just doesn't do it for me.
sounds great. one think though - slept better than you do at home? do you sleep on your kitchen floor?!
Off camping at then of August to Mawgan Porth, nr Newquay. Done a couple of practice weekends to East coast, but this'll be us first long haul 10 day camping trip. Just bought a trailer yesterday from Barnsley Towbar Centre to take all mi clobber in.
RE: Nice one Stay where we stay. If it's peace and quiet you're after you will be over the moon.
I'll PM you with a link.

RE: Went to Porthleven a couple of weeks back Hi ES, we went in there. I couldn't sample the beers though as I was driving. my sister did though!
No lol. I have one of those Intex Queen beds. Built in electric pump and it inflates to the size of your bed at home, coupled with being out in the fresh air and a nice duck down duvet It makes for blissful sleeping.
I don't rough it you know

I envy you. I love being in a tent and I can put a 5 man tunnel up on my own. It must be great to not have to worry about wind or rain when setting up. I hope you have a great time.
