Alright, i'll not get carried away seen as it was a pre season friendly. However, the lad was outstanding. Alright, he's no Stephen Ireland, who ran the show, but he played very well in there and did not look out of place for one second. Very unfortunate with the effort that hit the bar in the first half.

Downside - Macken and Devaney. Just not good enough... its not their lack of effort or enthusiasm... they're just not good enough.

Upside - What a finish from Boggy, and Butterfield was outstanding, as were the back 4.

Hopefully with Hammill and Gray to come in, along with another central midfielder for cover... we should be able to compete with any teams in our division.

As for City... passed it well. Adebayor and Bellamy (twice) should have put them out of sight, but i'd suggest Hughes goes out and spends some of those billions on some defenders. Ben Taim and Onouha just isn't going to cut it at the top.

    For me

Butterfield and O'Neil Thompson were fantastic, thought Macken was half Decent mi sen. Kozzie had a poor game, but apart from that we played well. Boggy's finish was immense, it was a friendly but i also got carried away as if it was a cup final.

Just tell me when did any of his balls stay on the pitch, apart from that dodgy back pass of course.

Thompson might get a contract and it's time for Luke Potter to step up.

    Agree with you on that

Superb performance from the young lad. Vision, skill and that chip was good too. He'll do OK this season.

    Has he filled out any?

Seemed a bit lightweight when I have seen him before.

I hope me does come through.

TBH, a lot of the comments sound like you are talking of a young Brian Howard.

    Yes he did

Only seen him a few times but he has impressed me every time. Not sure what would happen if somebody started clogging him though, but against the City twinkle toes he got a chance to show he has some decent skill.

He had a cracking game today, and was assisted well in midfield by Thompson, who I am sure will be a red next week. Also thought Odejayi had a another half decent game. But Boggy has got to start alongside him, if he gets a chance he knows where the back of the net is, great finish today. Humes performance was also a plus, doesn't look to have any confidence issues. All in all a decent game. Mention for Steele to, who was magnificent.
