Barnsley edged it for the first 55 minutes, but never really looked like scoring as the ball persistantly whizzed across the City penalty area. Then City made two changes and the match turned. By the 2nd goal, the Reds had pretty much thrown the towel in. The exception being a Hassell cracker which hit the underside of the woodwork and somehow stayed out of the net. As per usual, Muller made three or four great saves to keep us in it. The ref was bad for both teams and City were niggling.

Didn't see the goals too well, but generally, I though JCR and Moore played well, then Disco and Kozzie. Souza had another mare and needs dropping for a match or two. Macken looked really frustrated and Ode did the usual of turning a good run at goal into a backwards pass.

I would say the result was undeserverd as, with a finisher on the pitch, we should have buried them by 55 minutes in.

P.S. those fans who booed the players on and then stayed behind to purposefully boo the few players who troubled the away end at 90 min's, ought to take a look at themselves. This was no Ipswich first half.

"with a finisher on the pitch"

I don't disagree that we need more strikers, but I would also point out injuries to Hume and the falcon. But yes, more strikers please... ....or..... ...give adam a go, we know he can score.

Bad Finishing (just like Bad Defending)

    Is part of the game.

Bad Defending cost us on Tuesday and (by all accounts) Bad Finishing cost us today.

For those that do boo the team, I think it's fair enough that if they jeered on Tuesday, it was correct to do so today.

However, I take your point about not booing the players who took the time to come across and acknowledge the supporters at the end of the game.

granted there were grounds to boo them on Tuesday, but what mindset do you think they had coming out to boos today. It wouldn't necessarily have given them fire... ...just made JCR more likely to leave.

You're right, the result was undeserved

However, we could all see it coming. How many chances did we waste today? How many times did we give the ball away needlessly? The most alarming moment for me was when Odejayi, Macken and Devaney were all stood still and if you could read their minds they would have said 'I don't want the ball'.

I couldn't see the Odejayi incident, but it appeared he was arguing ferociously with one of his own team mates. According to a Bristol City fan on the way home, Odejayi punched one of their players in the back of the head. If that's true then he was lucky to only get a yellow.

At the end of the day, as you say, the result was undeserved.

Their was a positive - Mullers outstanding saves.

I find that hard to believe

Odejayi might be useless but i've never once seen him do anything even remotely aggressive

He was agressive today, but for me the result was the right one. They were great on the break and we left too many holes

    thats not like him

Next he'll be doing something crazy like actually attempting to win the ball rather than hiding from it

I can't understand that really Cazi

We had abject defending on Tuesday and team (rightly) got slaughtered at the interval.

Today (it would seem) we have inept forward play - yet the defeat was somehow "undeserved."

    10 shots on target to their 1 at half time . . . .

. . . . Now, I wasn't there and had only text commentary to rely on but there has to have been an element of bad luck not to put one away in that first half. That sounds like a pretty good first half performance away from home agin a club in some real form. If just one had dropped for us, it would surely have changed the game totally.

A much worse scenario would be us not creating any chances in the first place. Underlines the need to get a better finisher in though.

    Completely agree

I was impressed with us first half, looked good going forward and Odejayi had a couple of chances and really should have scored the header. However, it was very similar to the Wolves performance in the second half, we got to their box and didn't know what to do next. Macken held the ball up well and looked more interested than normal, but that was it. Not once did I see him making a charge to get on the end of a ball - and that's what we're missing. The midfield have absolutely no option but to try and pass to the wings - there's nothing up front.

Yet according to some we don't create any chances

And it doesn't matter if we sign Mifsud or anyone.

No-one in the box? There never fecking is!
