1-0 win in a game ruined by the appalling conditions. Just about deserved it. Very difficult to judge the new players in the conditions which turned the pitch into a quagmire. Just my opinions but here a quick run down

Townsend - very little to do but solid and no rushes of blood.

Gouda - unspectacular but solid. Looks more like a centre back to me
Roberts - quiet game but solid. Didn't add a lot
Cowgill - very good game. Never put a foot wrong. Deceptively quick for a big unit.
Smith - disappointing performance. Expected more from him.

Kay - quick, skilful, forward looking. Tired towards the end
Scowen - most accomplished player on the pitch. Hobbled off with cramp with 10 to go.
McCourt - very lively start. Strong and very vocal. Sadly got injured after 10 mins by a bad tackle and carried off on a stretcher.
Templeton - always lively and and involved. Work to do on becoming more effective.

Khan - again lively. Intelligent thinking and movement. Good control. Not sure why Sheffield Utd let him go. Good prospect.
Tuton - strong good control but suffered with a lack of quality service. Worked hard very little reward.

    Subs:
Abbott - worked hard. He just lacks the pace to play at L1 level. The signing of 2/3 central midfielders looks ominous for him.
Ash - got 20 mins. Sharp, good movement. No chances.
Harris - got 10 mins. Very vocal. Quite quick, good movemen.
    Walton & Drennan - unused.

Hecky and Tommy Wright sat with Mansford & Taylor in the Directors Box. No sign of Mourinho.....

    Agree with all that mate.

Khan has looked excellent in the 2 games I've seen him play so far. Great when cutting in from the left.

Templeton lacking end product but has got the attributes to be a decent player.

Smith looked like he'd gone backwards had an awful game.

Hope he makes it because as you say he's a unit. We've not had a proper unit in our defence since Darren Moore.

He's definitely getting better all the time. He reminds me of Long. Personally think he's got more potential than Roberts, although I like Roberts.

The only thing is he's out of contract at the end of the season and hasn't been near the first team so far this season which makes you wonder how highly rated he is

Yeah that's true. I guess haven't seen enough of him. He's good in the air, two footed, quick, strong in the tackle so he has the attributes. Just not sure what his reaction times are when up against strikers who are quick in and around the box. We'll see what happens.

After hearing Lee Johnson's comments about Kay last week, I'm looking forward to seeing him play.

I think the least we could do is give him a run in the side towards the end of the season if games become meaningless, or if we've got injuries to centre-halves

Considering the conditions, which were awful, we played some good football at times. Thought Cowgill and Roberts were immense at the back, and Cowgill wasn't going to be bullied or intimidated. After Scowen, i thought Khan was the best player on the pitch (and Bolton had Neil Danns in midfield), not sure why the Blades let him go

You're knocking George. Again. In a 21's game in **** weather. After returning from a successful loan spell. His family read the forum. Have a day off?

We know you don't rate him. And Nyatanga. And Danny.

Your repetition on this is bordering on Dr Zazlos/LJ proportions.

    Are you having a laugh?

I watch the game and give an honest opinion and then get called a troll for it?

What's the weather got to do with anything?

The OP comments on it and you say absolutely nothing.

Disappointing performance, expected more. He said. Fairy snuff.

Gone backwards had an awful game. You said.

And considering you aren't a fan and constantly berate the kid on here, of course I see that and shake my head. Hence the daft Jim Carrey gif. I'm not calling you a troll. I'm just baffled as to how you behave on here right now. You're a valuable contributor who adds to the forum nicely. But you get something under your skin and like a dog with a bone you won't let go.

You don't have to accept what I say, who am I to preach? But I'm only trying to help. I think. And when so many others have picked up on it, surely you must look at it and think "ahhhh, maybe I'll ease off for a bit". No?

    I dunno lad. Your prerogative.

He did have an awful game. He lacked confidence on the ball and looked a shadow of the player that made his debut for Crawley.

I haven't said a thing out of order about George Smith. I've just given my honest opinion.

When people say Digby has been poor, people just accept it.

Why is fair that people can harp on and on and on about Digby, Kennedy, Wiseman, Mvoto, the loan players, Keith Hill, LJ ect but when I bring up George Smith people have a go.

Yes you don't others don't agree that Smith is poor. I didn't agree that Mvoto was as poor as you made out. But no one goes on telling you to stop making Mvoto a laughing stock. He's a person and a footballer isn't he? He has a family? Like Smith?

We'll just have to agree to disagree. I'll stay out of it from now on. I've tried to offer advice but I think you're taking it in a different manner.

But M'Voto was ******* gash like. I loved him.

    I get what you're saying.

But what you're saying is I shouldn't be giving my honest opinion on here of a certain player because people dont like it. How can that be right?

I haven't just brought George Smith up for no reason. I watched him play.
