and if you'll excuse me :- YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ! Very proud - when we get behind the boys like that you remember that nobody does it quite as good as us. We didn't stop once through the whole first half and carried the boys home after Southend had scored. It gave us 12 men v their 12 (11+ref) and was like a home game for us. Credit to all the players for the desire and commitment, with mention to : Colgan for some good saves in the first half when it was still 0-0 and 1-0 Kay for the organisation and commitment at the back Nyatanga, pure class Togwell for being everywhere and blocking everything Howard for the leadership and pure guts for giving everything on that field for an hour when clearly not right Ferenczi for battling for everything and running his proverbials off to keep their back four from building anything Kyel Reid for keeping improving and for another perfect shot from the corner flag for the second Nardiello for (1) two high quality finishes and (2) running himself into the ground challenging and supporting his team-mates. If he could be kept fit enough and motivated to play like the last two games for a whole season, he'd be as good as any striker in this league. Davey for getting 'em to want it more than Southend Crowd for turning Roots Hall into Oakwell-on-sea
Back from Southend an hour ago, the Tykes support was tremendous, non-stop for almost the whole game. The whole team came across at the end to show appreciatiation. Great effort today, as with Birmingham game last week. Howard pulled off early as a precaution because of previous booking, Nads too. Southend applied some pressure naturally after they'd scored their goal, (we'd become a bit complacent) but we deserved the 3 points as the scoreline suggests. We need the same massive effort in ALL the remaining games as it's not over yet by a long way. My best 3 today? Nads for 2 goals, Sam Togwell who covered so much space and made huge number of tackles and finally Kyle Reid - he tracks back so much to help out and as well as looking good going forward. Others to be mentioned are Lewin Nyatanga, and Ialso stvan for his running up front and closing down players.
Davet came on and congratulated every player and then applauded the fans.First time I've seen him do that.He also got a good response from the fans.Brilliant to see
My throat is killing me!!! Every single reds fan that travelled today deserves a pat on the back. We never stopped singing the whole game.
The lads did us proud yet again, and it was great to see them come over at the end and clap the fans. Also great to hear the fans singing Daveys name. He may not have been the fans choice but at the moment things are turning for him.
2 more wins................ COME ON!
