Pitch looks like Cleethorpes beach at the moment, all sand.</p>

They have started early so we should have a decent pitch for the next Championship season.

Why do they have to dig the pitch up every season

I thought this year the surface held up very well

Thats because they sacked the old groundsman

the one that came from the council and his previous experience was with flower beds on Locke Park. The groundsman now is a lot better and you can tell with the state of the pitch compared to the end of last season.

Have they actually dug it up

Or is it just a top dressing that they have applied?

They've scraped it and sanded it. They were doing it Wednesday night about 8 o'clock with the floodlights on?
Just happened to be running past...

It says on the official website that they are re seeding it rather than re turfing it! Is this another cost saving measure!
