For a few last minute things. It is full of:- Perma- orange towie wanna bes. Gym warriors who look like they've been kicked thru top man backwards Mutton dressed as lamb Hen pecked men let out by their partners pissed as farts Women dressed up like they've just escaped from a funeral wake Pigs in knickers Indie kids decked head to toe in penguin and perry Loads of 18 year old casual wannabes Some proper tidy ladies Fat blokes with tops that are too small. And loads of plod.
Oh to be back in Barnsley on a Christmas Friday night....... No chance of that here.....not much skin being revealed when it feels like -25C (LD Red probably wants to get back home on the next plane!)
How much snow have you calgary, were you part of the winter storm that ventured into the north west US
I'm enjoying it so far! It's not too bad until the wind kicks in, then it's COLD! Scariest bit is the size of the bloody trucks over here, I'm not a fan of trying to drive with them thundering about everywhere.
It used to be ok about 10 years ago when it was the council and SR Gents in regents. F.uck waiting 30mins to be served, it will be just as bad Boxing Day but on Boxing Day it will be full if couples at eachother's throats telling each other how they are always the same when they've had a drink
No snow in the last few weeks. But we are being hit by an Arctic wind, so it's bl**dy freezing. TBH, we don't get that much snow in Calgary, compared to most major cities in Canada, but fortunately the ski hills in the Rockies are being pounded. The hill we use in Kimberley BC has had 2 feet in the last 2 days. Roll on Boxing Day!
when i was there the lady i was living with, said that they dont get snow like they used to in calgary. here in DC theres a cold wind blowing and a chance of snow wednesday and thursday. you lucky bugger, i take it your not keen on banff,is kimberley less busy.
Banff has some great ski hills, but we are lucky enough to have a place in Kimberley, so we have season passes for there. We chose there because it is a great family ski hill (our kids are 10 and under) and never gets that busy - only on Family Day weekend in February might we have to queue for 10 minutes for a chair lift. As for right now, I daren't even go out in the car- this is frigid. It shouldn't get this cold until the end of January.
very nice, we are lucky enough to have a beech apartment in ocean city maryland, were going there for new years. hope you and your family have fun. bet you dare go out in the car when you venture to Kimberley LOL
Are the roads to Banff open? Was one of the places I was thinking about heading up to once my Sister and family arrive.
mate of mine has just moved out to lethbridge (?) to be a trucker, he reckons its a better class of tarmac to stare at for 9hrs a day
The roads are very rarely closed to Banff - it's on the No.1 highway across Canada so is always cleared first. It's warmer up there too. Take a look at road-cams. https://www.amaroadreports.ca/cameras/canmore
"Last minute things"?? Surely last minute things are gifts that husbands buy at the Jet garage on Christmas morning?? No? "Look, I bought you this giant size Galaxy bar, a scraper, and a snuggle blanket"......
