I asked him how he felt about all the new signings, he said he was very worried they'd not be bothered to start with, but sez all the new signings have lived upto their reputations, especially Diouf and Fortune. He was gutted he'd left. Despite praising the new players, he didn't think much of Saunders, he said they'd have been better doing the same as us, getting a manafger who works well on a budget, and bringing in players from the lower leagues desperate to prove their worth. He's confident they'll get relegated, but is glad to see us doing well.

I also told him of the rumor of us trying to sign Brian Stock, and he said, that injury's have certainly took their toll on him. He believes he's past his best, which is a shame after all he's done for the club. He sez it would be a shame for him to leave, but he's struggling to get a game, and it's probably best if he did move on.

He is spot on with his thoughts. Jury definately out on Saunders at the minute, under S'OD we played great football (without always getting the results), the football under Saunders is somewhat different and will take some adjusting to,although results have improved the quality of football has gone backwards which I suppose was to be expected as we would have been as good as down now under S'OD. Fortune was unplayable on saturday and I'm guuted he has gone back to sit on WBA's bench, hopefully Diouf will stay, he has said he would like to but if those Russians come in with loons money he's going to go, there is also a rumour of LA Galaxy wanting him LA or Doncaster? mmm it's a toughie even with your beautiful town on our doorstep if think LA might come out on top!
As for Stock (presumabely to replace Butterfield?), 2 years ago I thought he was the best midfielderin the Championship, he had everything in his locker his vision was light years in front of the rest of our squad, the reason he has stayed IMO is he wouldn't pass a medical anywhere, he has missed to many games and now we are in a scrap the balls he used to try and get applauded for even if they didn't reach their target he his now get slated for. That's football I suppose, could do a job at most teams in this league but too injury prone.
Anyway, can I be the first to congratulate you on your 1-0 win at the Keepmoat. Well done.

No disrespect, but Diouf's only at Doncaster to try and manufacture a move elsewhere, and it seems fashionable to play in the States these days, no matter how dire the league is. I reckon we'll be trying to sign a midfielder even if Butterfield leaves or not, it's an area we seem to have 2 or 3 good players in, but no real back up. I think with Stock, Hill might be able to get the best out of him, I mean look at the players we've signed this season; McNulty has a history of severe injuries, as does Vaz Te, both of which have stayed injury free (touch wood) for the majority of the season and have been 2 of our top performers. So maybe if we signed Stock, Hill would work his magic :).
I wouldn't be as confident about the result at the keepmoat, we seem to be getting 2-0 half time leads alately and then blowing them in the 2nd half. I reckon this time might be a score draw. Best of luck for the rest of the season though (after 2nd Jan ;) ) we need at least one SY derby in this league.
