Thanks to stagecoachs Sunday time keeping.

Cracking game of football on barugh green rec on what can only be described as a swamp. Both teams trying to pass where they could and didn't give less than one hundred per cent. Some of the tackles were proper blood and thunder ones no holds barred. not one late or bad tackle. Puts the modern footballer to shame.

    Really enjoyed it.

I know that for our next strike we have support coming from Stagecoach depots in Scotland from First depots in Sheffield and Rotherham hopefully Arriva at Wakefield various local union branches. I also know in the last week we have had a bus shot at in Kendray,we have had a woman driver lunged at by a junky with a needle at doncaster and another involved when a gang got on his bus and dragged a passenger off and kicked 7 bells out of him on the pavement. as for your bus not turning up this morning, the office put a radio message out yesterday asking that any driver wanting to work today and have a day off later in the week to let them know, this at a time where, if you're not a scab, you're not allowed overtime, not allowed to swap shifts for special occasions and not allowed to take lieu days off, which have been earned by working Bank Holidays, again for special occasions. Lovely people running Stagecoach.

They'll tell you in more detail on the picket line but first are looking at doing in a number of early morning rural services that rely on government subsidy as they are getting cut back.

As for some troubles you have heard about in the canteen involving some fellow drivers **** like has and still happens on the tram where you don't have a plastic box to protect you.

the "troubles heard in the canteen" as you put it are statements taken from the drivers involved and have resulted in no backing whatsoever fom management. The rural services being cut back are already, in the main, run by Tates and if th subsidies are cut back any further then even Tates wont run them so why should First? The word is that First may be considering competing on 66 57 and 11 routes but as with most things just rumours.
