http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/front_page/4860458.stm the new millenium dome. this has become a joke...
should have been built in birmingham in the first place for a fraction of the cost with more seats in it and it would have been ready by now.
The old wembley could have been turned into the national football museum (instead of it being in a crap little stand at preston) and would have made a lot of money.

2007 - Summer before it is ready! That's from a contractor builder who works there and has been told he can't start for another 6 months at the present rate (he's got 6 months work to do re specialist glass installs & demo case fitting).
I know one thing, I don't think the Stadium will last as long as the old one. With RSJs falling and Drainage problems, I think the whole project will be of poor finished quality- basically a rush job with corners cut. Plus, who fit's 000's of seats in a stadium when the roofing hasn't been finished, thus getting marks on seats from weld dropping on them etc? Arsenal's Emirates Stadium is by far a better job, looks just as classy and has been done properly (McAlpine's). All roof is finished, and the seats have only just begun to go in (all seats are padded too!) Take a look:- http://www.arsenal.com/emiratesstadium/?qs=dynamic&nav=emirates stadium
I pass the Emirates Stadium regularly on the train It's right next to the train line running into Kings Cross It does look pretty impressive.
Listened to K Livingstone the other day He didnt actually place blame, but he did say that when the spec. is finalised and handed over, then thats the time to draw a line in the sand no matter what "new" gizmos are available, changing the design after the project started will always result in delays. He was opening the new underground into Wembly on time and on budget, so he was crowing a bit.
british workmanship was the main force on that project . not illegal's on a fiver an hour who don't give a **** , i guess the whole fooking thing will crumble in a few yrs , pay **** get **** , but who cares not the top guy's who' making themselves millionaires out of this shambles . they'll just cut and run once the contract is sealed and approved, shame we the sports fans' deserve more . i for one one will definitely go when finished either to see a game be it football or rugby , or even a pop concert but i will be wary of the surroundings . i got a mate what works there and he say's once finished he'll not set foot in the place again ? not even to see is beloved (leeds united thats if they ever get there of course)makes you wonder eh ....
The funny thing is... That the Emirates Stadium probably now stands a good chance of hosting a few England games of it's own, now Wembley won't be finished....Which is not a bad thing - nice ground, and as previosuly stated - built mostly buy Bristish people, not immigrants.
