I really cannot comprehend how incredibly unprofessional it is. It really is an absolutely appalling thing to write. Mark - as you'll no doubt read this - to think I used to email you in the early days of the magazine you made with our supporters team's games - I thought you were a decent bloke but I'm afraid you simply cannot go round making sweeping generalisations about supporters like that and wishing to attain any respect. To use the story of Reuben getting a chance at Man United to make a sweeping dig at the support of the club you're writing about really is very very low indeed. I suggest you delete the article and apologise.
I don't know I just cannot comprehend why some people at BFC think everyone's got it in for everyone there and that we get all the digs in the programme, on websites etc. At the end of the day, we just want a winning team with an efficiently run club and have no ulterior motives.
Well Said When we have a problem with something, we bring it up. Nothing wrong with that. At least they know what we don't like.
I know from experience It seems people think I had it in for certain players and the manager when nothing could have been further from the truth at all. All I want is the best for all BFC players, managers, staff and supporters, and anyone that actually knows me would testify to that.
You can only do your best. If people think you have bad intentions, **** em. Anyway everyone should send RNL some Facebook love now....... http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/s... lazarus&sid=3c8a4e703bcbff846b707674bfbc7426
As someone who wants to be a journalist once I leave uni and venture into the real world I think it is an extremely poor article on barnsleyone and would never dream of writing something like that.
I've written a LOT of articles on sport and did so extremely successfully, contrary to the p!ss taking on here And I have never written or known anyone write anything like that before. It's really quite staggering. Good luck with it by the way mate.
RE: I don't know That's what I mean. BFC cannot be the best paying company in town. If they needed some Chemical Engineers down there it woud be the first place I'd want to work. So guessing you take a lower wage to work somewhere you care about what on earth can be there ulterior motives. See us in the Conference? Mayeb they are Washday fans on an undercover mission?
Thanks I'v managed to grab myself a week on the sports desk at the press association in howden, hoping to pick up a lot while I'm up there.
So have I And to use a 15 year old lad in this manner, simply because some fans' views on Mr Davey differ from his own, is despicable and reflects badly on Barnsley Football Club.
Yep It's nothing to do with RNL - in fact a lot of people who did feel it was a 'publicity stunt' were merely feeling sorry for the lad and not casting any aspersions towards him. The fact he hasn't featured at all since Ipswich and Doncaster merely increases these people's suspicions. I don't think it means he's not a good player though, I'd hazard a guess that it's the fact he's 15 years old and to even feature at that age twice is remarkable. I think the majority of our fans were very excited at such a young player emerging as we've hardly had good youngsters flowing off the production line have we?
It's not as if they're not used to looking bad. It's the only thing they appear to be professional at. In 20 years time, if we still exist. Someone from Barnsley will get on the Board and Public Relations will be explained. There will be a collective frown and then a realisation as to what has gone so very wrong at the club for as long as I can remember.
RE: So have I You have to wonder about the mentality of someone that would link a 15 year old kid into a debate about what some internet fans think of the manager.
Not fit to shovel **** would be my summation.

I don't think they need a PR genius, just someone with the most basic grasp of operating in a customer focused environment.

I agree I think we'd all have liked to see both RNL & Jamil Adam feature a bit more often, even if it were only from the bench.
