Did anyone see it and what did they make to it? I know it got mixed reviews (although mainly positive by the end of the series) but I absolutely loved it. Can't wait for the second series they've commissioned

Thought it was really great, and I used to work at the old Lime Grove studios, so it was really interesting to see how they'd recreated it. The hype around it put some unwanted pressure on it to succeed; "Britain's answer to Mad Men" was a common theme. Big shoes to fill!!

Thought the acting was tremendous, especially Ben Whishaw. The stuff behind the scenes (the political control and how journalism was trying to break lose of government control and exercise free speech) was really interesting.

Boll*x...Watched the 1st two and we loved it.. Set the Humax to record remainder of series whilst we were away for a month in August but for some reason (might hav ebeen the digital switchover or summat) nothing was recorded. How did you see it recently? Was it repeated recently 'cos we have not seen it scheduled or had you recorded it?

Had it on series link on Sky+. Worth seeing if you can get it on DVD mate. Got loads of stuff backed on Sky + cos we don't get much chance to watch TV, I'd be gutted if it broke! 2nd series of Treme next I reckon

    Cheers!

Unfortunately I don't have Sky on principle and which I consider to be 'the evil empire' ( although my Missus says it's because I am 'tight'). I hope they bring it out on Blu-Ray or better still LoveFilm rental although I am not holding my breath. (Looking forward to next series of 'Sherlock' too which, in my humble opinion, was far superior to the film which came out around the same time).

I really enjoyed it, didn't know they were making a second series so pleased to hear that.

Boardwalk Empire on Sky Atlantic is my favourite series at the moment, excellent TV

Only watched the first but didn't really get into it - worth another go?

Still not done The Wire, either.

The Wire is unmissable. The first epsiode of The Hour was the worst as it was trying to set up lots of different characters and plot lines, got better and better for me. Agree with Kanecat, Boardwalk is excellent too, not started series 2 yet, Treme has got the nod first.

Thats what I love about digital recorders, I literally only ever watch quality telly now. Getting to the point where something is not going to get watched though, thinking Mildred Pierce

NO NO NO!! Don't delete Mildred Pierce, honestly it is well worth watching. Find something else to delete if your box is getting full!
