so out of 39 points available what did we have over last 10 years

    2015/16 14pts
    2014/15 15pts
    2013/14 9pts
    2012/13 15pts
    2011/12 15pts
    2010/11 15pts
    2009/10 14pts
    2008/9 12pts
    2007/8 17pts
    2006/7 12pts
    2005/6 18pts

only Davey lost his job by this point in any of the last ten years ,he had 1 point from first 6 games and lost 5 in a row, 4 without scoring in 2009/10

so our L J as averaged the same amount of points as we've managed for 10 long seasons, so BFC are just slow starters, have bad pre- season routines , somethings wrong, 10 years and not one good start to our campaign

lets not be too down then, or is it 10 years of bad starts that's finally ground us down

one thing it does confirm is L J should not go at this point

    Nice stats.

Sack the manager, start again, and the beginning of the season is a tough time. By the time we get around to sacking season we haven't recovered well enough from the turnover, so the cycle begins again.

Johnson isn't helping himself at the moment either like. Those of us backing him need a bit of inspiration from the man to cling on to. We all appreciate it's tough, but the tactics appear to be adding to the problems rather than helping alleviate them.

CHRIST! It's no wonder we're all depressed. Even the believers. Those stats are horrific!

It's mad to think that had Lee's tactic of going for it in the last 10 at Donny paid off, we'd have been in 17 points after 10 games, would have been our best start to a season for a decade.

Interesting. But I don't think you can compare stats in the Championship with stats in League 1.
I would expect a tough challenge in the Championship but we should be doing a hell of a lot better than that in L1.

don't understand that argument, worlds changed, we are now trying to live in our means, most players on lower wages, hence lower league class, back in the day, we was throwing 1 million pounds at buying players, 10k a week wages and still struggled

reason we struggle is we have never built a team, had a settled squad to go into next season, like a short term fix on a leaky roof, eventually its gonna leak in again

The difference is though that even though we moaned at the time, us fans were more accepting of the fact, and were certainly a long way from being one of the most financially viable sides in that league. In League One, however, when we are supposedly one of the 'wealthier' teams, then fans tend to be less sympathetic to a clubs plight.

You are right Red24/7. But I am working on the basis that we are one of the bigger clubs in this league with a history of being a second tier club. Logically you would expect that's where the board want us to get back to. And therefore you would expect that we would be in a better position than most to do so. The problem is that the longer you are out of it, the harder it is to jump back. If you start behaving like a league 1 club you become a league 1 club.

We were paupers in the Championship with a team befitting of that position (low Champ, high L1 players). We are not in that position in L1, if that truly were the case, the teams that head the table currently wouldn't be there - or do you imagine that Gillingham and Burton have larger budgets than us?

We should be good enough to sustain a tilt in the top half/play-offs but are being restricted by our handbrake of a manager and a policy that only seems to involve acquiring players that haven't finished their A-Levels. We're goosed from top to bottom.
