that Cheltenham fan who posted that about Devaney and MCcann not liking each other was talking *****.

Devaney phoned MCcann to see if he was interested in coming here. He must have ealked out because he quite simply wants to play week in week out. Only a good thing.

RE: We were interested in McCann...

around the time we signed Devaney. McCann was a West Ham youngster, but only played once in their first team. I believe that he played against us at Cheltenham in our 3-1 victory (I was there and seem to remember he played). I think he was on loan at first and then signed for what was afair fee for Cheltenham. He is naturally left-footed midfielder, who also gained a reputation for scoring goals at Cheltenham, especially from set pieces to the right set of the penalty area. He is a clone of Stephen McPhail, right down to the fair hair, natural left foot and style of play, except he scores slightly more frequently. I am not surprised he looked rusty on Saturday. He definitely has the potential and will improve with greater fitness. He should play left midfield, or wide left, although a winger he aint. Eleven Northern Ireland full caps.
