He's right though. No more relegation scraps; it sounds good to me.

We could certainly do well in their Championship. I've just been to watch Raith Rovers get beat 2-0 to two injury time goals by top of the table Dundee. Raith were down to ten men for the last 25 minutes and it took some comedy goalkeeping to gift Dundee their first, before a breakaway second when Raith were trying to level.

Kyle Letheren was in the Dundee nets, or at least he was until he got stretcher ex off to hospital after seemingly get knocked spark out clearing a ball. He didn't really have much to do apart from a couple of easy saves towards the end of the first half.

The quality was poor though. Dundee were happy playing the long ball, which Raith's number 5 was eating up all came, whilst Raith couldn't string two passes together. It livened up at the end of the first half when Raith started passing it and this continued at the beginning of the second until, bizarrely, Letheren went off. After this it was all Dundee, with Raith not capitalising on the new keeper. Still, Raith have games against Hearts and Rangers to look forward to next season.

Long winded post in response to Arabian Ian's request for a match summary earlier today!

TBF mate your son was at a local derby, Hibs v Hearts, and those games do become a bit of a leveler. To say the game and standard of football was **** was just a wee bit disrespectful when you consider some of the **** which Barnsley have dished up recently.
Hearts ATM play a lot of young lads due to admin and cash flow problems and Hibs in a wee bit of transition with Butcher taking over.
I watched the game and thought it was a good and at times hard tackling game. Hearts youngsters giving a fair account of themselves. Went in at H/T 0-0 before losing 2-1 in the end.
Would Barnsley finish 2nd is debatable but certainly you are possibly equal ATM to those clubs in the bottom half of the SPL and of course that is where Hearts and Hibs are. TBH my last viewing of Barnsley, home to Birmingham 0-3 and I would argue on that display Scottish Championship level.

All opinions with no one right and no one wrong. This is what makes football a great game.

Got to agree Ian, some of our recent games have been shocking, the standard of football dished up along with the atmosphere hasn't exactly wet the appetite, could you imagine taking someone for the first time to watch a supposed championship game. It would probably put them off football for life.

Ian it was a light hearted post mate, he has talked to me today and said he actually enjoyed it at the match, although there was some trouble between the fans before the match and Hibs fans were jumping on top of Hearts fans cars !!
I didn`t realise it was still that bad in Edinburgh ?

    He's right.

Paul Heffernan, Rory Fallon, Rod Wallace, Chris Boyd (past seasons) and so on and so on.

And then David Goodwillie, Jim O'brien and more to name on players who have come down. David Clarkson and who was the player who went to Bristol City (Miller I think).

Scottish football is pony to put it politely.

Thats ok Mark. Sorry but I only reacted to your post because I thought your son was deliberately putting down and belittling Scottish football just for the hell of it. Yeah Scottish football's standard has dropped quite a bit lately but not as much as some would have you believe. Lack of money and the power of the Old Firm has a lot to do with it.
Mark the Edinburgh derby is every bit as fierce as the Sheffield, N London or Birmingham. There is a religious undertone there but not as much as the Glasgow bigots. Not nice I can assure you.
I'm sure your son did enjoy the game and atmosphere as I did last night. :)
