I met up with family from the Welsh side and reluctantly sat in the away end with me gob shut. The first goal Muller set a 2 man wall and then they split and he went to his post and shouted for a wall again but no one came and then it was taken and he was not set properly and the rest is history 1 - 0 down. After all the pressure this welsh guy next to me says if they score now they deserve it as they have all the pressure. Then they attack and score the 2nd and the chap behind me says we only have to attack and score. The second half could have been different as Macken headed well and it was in fairness a fantastic point blank save by their keeper. In fact he played well all the game and we did not test him that much. We seemed to tryed too hard and had no width at times. If I am to be honest we had not tactical awareness to unlock their defence. They were all frightened of Campbell Rice when he got the ball but it was obvious that Davy did not use him to potential. To sum up the Welsh lot seemed pleasantly surprise to get a win and they feared a defeat or a draw. One lad beside me said it was taking candy off a baby referring to tactical non awareness......all puff and no result. The run in looks tough but you never underestimate the super reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Similar to how we saw it We played the better football, they scored from a retaken free kick and it was a defensive howler, after that it was just us playing but I said that the longer it went on I could see them breaking a grabbing another which is how it turned out. Thought it was disgraceful of the fans to boo them off at half time when we had played well. 2nd half we started in the same manner pressing for a goal, their keeper made 2 blinding saves and I said it just wasn't our day, and that was summed up with an awful mix up between Foster and Muller for their 3rd. And how come that wasn't a penalty in the 1st half - clearly looked inside the area to me.
RE: Similar to how we saw it Could not see the penalty in the first half shout as it was at the Ponty end but as I said the Swansea fans could not believe their luck as we outplayed them for much of the match but it was not our day with it just not clicking. Having said that was the tactics wrong as I said before CR was too narrow and they we frightened of him from the start. 5 breaks and 3 goals and no surprise Muller made a muck up as he looked to have no confidence.
