Who's that new signing we've got? Big black lad up front wearing number 9? Somebody said it was Odejayi, did look like him, but can't be him! Da da da da. . . ODEJAYI!! Good to see Hume as well, showed some nice touches but far from match fit.
Does he look better then? I don't care if people say 'it's only pre-season', or 'it's only Bradford', it can only be a good thing if he's looking more like the player some thought he was always capable of being.
How did Buttefield do? Someone compared him to Howard earlier on here, then again, someone also compared him to Leon!

No; Odejayi. But now you've said, some folk on here reckon Butterfield's going to be the next Howard. Do you think this is the case from what you saw today? I'm guessing not.
RE: Does he look better then? A lot better for me. Held ball up well, some nice touches and lay offs and got a few decent shots away. Don't want to get carried away but if he can take some decent form into the new season it is like a new signing. Barnsley fans chanting his name and a decent standing ovation when he went off.....says it all really.
RE: No; Odejayi. Butterfield still has time on his hands to develop so I'm not writing him off yet - but from what I've seen he is too lightweight, not aggressive enough, no pace, no ariel ability.....he plays the odd neat ball here and there, but god help us if he is Anderson's replacement should he ever be unavailable.
People can say its only friendlies against nobody teams but Odejayi is looking full of confidence, and we seemed to be very quiet once he was subbed off. He's battling, shooting, winning the ball, passing it around and more importantly, SCORING. Good luck to him, hope he's the answer to our striker woes
RE: People can say its only friendlies against nobody teams but My thoughts exactly. Winning and scoring in any game can only breed confidence. Lets hope Odejayi takes this into the season.
Think he's got potential Got a good first touch, and decent ball control, and his strike against Frickley shows he can finish, but he's just not upto standard yet, maybe after a few more 1st team games and he's got more championship experience. Then again he's only young.
RE: People can say its only friendlies against nobody teams but And now we have to get behind throughout EACH game and not get on his back the 1st chance he misses
RE: People can say its only friendlies against nobody teams but i understand not getting on his back and i will support the 11 on the pitch, but thats as far as it goes with oddjob, he is going to have to win the fans over and thats the end of it. Im sick and tired of hearing how we need to get behind him, and the reason he has been so poor is because people have booed. Im not saying that you doddy, and as i said i agree on getting behind the team. But he is a big boy and paid to do a job, and its long overdue that he starts doing that job!
He beat the Chelsea on his own..... kayode, kayode, he beat the chelsea on his own kayode kayode, we bought the lad from Cheltenham town he didn't cost a million pounds Kayode Odejayi Barnsleys number nine na na na na na... To the torres tune Do we use the da da da tune on every player? Nyatanga, de silva....
RE: He beat the Chelsea on his own..... It wasn't that tune. It was the tune that Palace fans sung about Andy Johnson, the 1 they play when Boro score.
He may have scored the goal But I doubt the other players will agree that he beat Chelsea on his own. Plus we'll look a bit daft hanging onto an FA Cup win 2 seasons ago, we'll start sounding like Leeds and Sheff Wed with their illusions of grandeur.
