regarding the arguments about attendences/pricing/Rowing, the I'm a proper fan so I don't give a fk what you think brigade etc. But it did make me think what people expect, personally I think £28 is too much for a match at our level especially in the current climate, but in my case because of other commitments I had to give up my season ticket as even with the discount I couldn't get to enough games to make it worthwhile. Now as long back as I can remember we have struggled with attendances until the kids were back at school and family holidays were over and now the recession IS hitting a lot of people hard and £28 is a lot of money to a lot of people. I know there are various other incentives that can bring the price down but most are useless to any fans living out of the area because of time restraints etc. My point being that because of prices how many fans that do live away and the ones who live locally and might pop down on impulse are we missing out on, it just made me nostalgic for the days before players wages etc ruined the game and pricing structures .When season tickets were very much in the minority (clubs didn't need as much cash up front) , when you could decide on the day, pay a fair price appropriate to the wages at the time, go down with your mates without wondering whether you would actually be able to sit with them (stand in those days obvioulsy). It would be interesting to know just how much difference it would make.
