Good afternoon. I believe the final score was 5-1 to the Reds.
Absentees - Watson, Morgan, De Zeeuw, Bullock, Marcelle, Jovo, Scott Jones.
Quite a decent attendance, the majority of the East Stand lower was full so maybe an attendance of around 2,000? Interesting to see how many fans had dusted off their old BFC shirts from ten years ago and how many were now V tight....and bobbled!! (Remember the Prem shirts bobbling?!!)
The Reds played well. Great to see them. Most were fit and had kept in good shape. Eaden, Appleby, Moses were all fit. Hendrie was quite tubby!! Ashley Ward played almost the whole game and looked fairly past it but managed two goals I think. Wardy had a bit of fun with one of the Bradford players and the referee in the centre circle, knocking 'em on the floor and 'piling on'!!! Stuart McCall a good sport! Stumpy looked great, definitely hasn't lost it...Bradford had a tubby striker who when through on goal Stumpy just knocked onto the ground earning them a penalty!! :D
Neil Thompson played well and looked the same. Gotta say that the best two were Redders and Stumpy though. Redders showed good awareness, touches, and as always a good strike. Think he got two?
Quite disappointing not to see Clint or Bullock but can understand Morgan and De Zeeuws absences.
It was a good afternoon but quite lifeless. Maybe could have been advertised more, its a shame more fans didn't turn up but I suppose the amount that were there was a decent enough turn out.
Hundreds of fans went on the pitch at the end and over to the players for autographs and photos. The biggest crowd was around Redders and he was the last off.
Overall, it was a good afternoon. Nice to see the team playing and together again. They played well and still had the understanding and feeling of a team.
Full credit to the players, Barnsley legends every one of them.

Is that the new home shirt or just something they got the lads to wear? nt

Think it was just a shirt provided for them to wear. It had the old style rose badge on it anyway.
