Just got back to Aylesbury - was it worth it?

  1. The answer has to be no. Like all the other southern based Reds on here, I just headed back down the M1 sick to my stomach having witnessed another aimless, clueless, pointless performance. I know they play well sometimes (Hillsbrough second half for example) but, I have to say, they don't do it often when I am there!
I was full of optimism and hope for a good season driving up this morning. Now, 300 miles later I can't see any difference to last season. Maybe Coventry packed their defence so well to protect that lead, maybe we just haven't got a clue how to break teams down that do that.
There were so many negatives about that match today so there is no point in listing them. I can't think of one positive though, and that's the worst thing. Will I be back for more? Of course I will but COME ON REDS - put the effort in for goodness sake!! Coventry are no more than average and we gifted them three points. They must have laughed all the way home.

    One positive

Nearly every player in a Red shirt was below what they are capable of, so better things are ahead.

Let's hope it's a blip because we all know they are capable of so much more. I'm sure some day soon your 300 mile trip will be worth it & you'll be getting home with a smile on your face. Keep the faith. :)

What other form of entertainment can give you this emotional rush

  4. Yes, I know you are right

But I've been doing this south-north-south journey from various places for many many years and, to be honest, I have gone home miserable far more times than I have gone home happy. But then again that is the nature of being a Barnsley fan. I know this is how it is and yet I keep coming back for more, and will continue to do so.
It'll be better next time, maybe

    :D

I'm thinking of taking up drugs

work commitments fortunately meant I couldn't make today or Preston, but I'll be at Leics........we'll lose, cos we always do at Leicester.
    Fun innit

my round trip is only 140 miles and I find that the drive home is useful in getting over the disappointment

yesterday was easier because there was nothing at all to think about

I havent seen us win since last October as I missed the matches against Plymouth in December and Palace in March

yesterday's performance suggests that it could be a while yet

    still, roll on Tuesday night
