Hells bells, thats a LONG way away!!!. Not helped by the hour long queue on the M5 coming back due to a serious accident that needed the air ambulance - both lanes blocked. With the southbound side deserted at the point we were queueing nothbound, there were games of football breaking out on the deserted motorway. Not often you see that !!. All in all, cracking day out. Arrived at 10.30, stroll down to Plymouth Hoe, ice cream, back to ground, beer, good win, party atmosphere, burnt head- the sun was strong today down there - I think I've got a touch of sunstroke!!. (casualty) Thought the lads started very nervously, and for a little while it looked like Plymouth were the team needing the points - they certainly deserved their lead at the time it arrived. But, almost immediately, news came through that Charlton were 1-0 up. Within 10 minutes it was 3-0 (there was a false rumour about it being 4-0, but never mind). When the equaliser came, around the time of Charlton's third, there was no looking back - Reds fans started having a ball, the players visibly relaxed and started playing, and when they did, they were the better side. Once we took the lead early in the second we were pretty much home and hosed. The Charlton goals helped A LOT!!. They enabled both the team and the fans to relax. Loved the chants "Deon Deon Burton - we thought he was ***** but now he's alright, Deon Deon Burton" Davey came out 10 minutes after the team had disappeared to clap the away fans. The returned appreciation was, erm, less than convincing!!
