Classic game of two halves. Didn't deserve to loose. Played worse on Tuesday and won. Hayes should have started and we need a settled defence. Also Hassel should have started in the centre and Austin at Full back - we were much better when we switched to that in the second half. Should have got the ball out to the wingers more - that was when we looked most dangerous. Still optimisic we can finish in top 6 - even top two is possible but we need to strengthen the defence still further.

All sucessful teams build from the back.

Why have we not learned this in the past 10 years?

We can't build from the back.Hassell is the only decent footballer amongst the defenders.

SORRY. I don't deny the defensive abilities of these defenders but when you talk about building from the back Hassell is the only one who can pass the ball in a constructive manner.Although he is prone to the odd mistake.

Agree Bob. The switches you mention were absolutely vital. Why Ritchie can't see what the rest of us see I don't know, especially as Hassel has been excellent at centre back.

Consistency is the key and we don't seem to have it.

richie worries me when in his day he played at a decent level as a striker then why did he give richards a longer contract or even entrtain him at all hes a waste of space!

I know. Starting Richards today was totally ineffective. As soon as Hayes came on he lifted the team. He has one of the best assists in the League and yet Ritchie starts with the ineffective Richards. Fans round me were going mental. Also you know when Wright and Richards start that it's going to be hoofing it up rubbish. My heart sank when I heard the team news.

The fact that Hayes came on and changed the game proved we were all correct.

Why can't Ritchie see it?, yet he insists on starting him constantly.

More worrying to my mind is this desire to "give them alla chance!"

He should settle on a partnership and allow it to develop - as long as it's not Richards and Wright [IMG] as that simply does not work

My point was.when building a squad the priority should be a solid defence.

Solid foundations not like a house build on sand as the case has been at Oakwell for far too long.
