From watching my wife run a marathon. She did it in 3 hours 56 minutes and has raised hundreds of pounds for Sheffield Children's hospital. I've never felt so proud in all my life. Well done Suzanne. Anyway, to the game. Fantastic stuff. Before the game I said I'd prefer us to play Dagnall and Harewood up front. I thought Chris O'Grady had just gone a off the boil a little in recent matches and it was time to freshen things up a bit. I couldn't have been more wrong. That was as good a centre forward's performance as I've seen at this level. Superb. Nice surprise to see us go back to the wing-back system. I thought RNL and Jim O'Brien did well in those difficult wing back positions. I reckon the system caught Steve Bruce on the hop and Hull never got to terms with it all game. The early goal helped too. The Hull fans were well up for it before the game, but after the Mellis goal we didn't hear a peep out of them. Away fans at any ground usually make the most noise and with 6,000 of them there they should have been the 12th man, but they didn't help their team at all. The Barnsley fans on the other hand were fantastic. We can make a noise when we want to, we should do it more often. It's ridiculous to think we could still go down with 54 points. Huddersfield could still go down with 57! Barmy season. Whatever happens Flitcroft and the lads have done us proud. The very best of British to them for the Huddersfield game.
Well done to the missus, that's some effort! As for yesterday... bloody immense, I can't remember such optimism going through Oakwell for a long time.
Fine effort. Incredible time too. I once did a half-marathon in exactly half that time. The notion of turning round and running all the way back at the same speed defies belief - and I was 20 years younger then! Well done her and well done the reds yesterday. It's all to play for.
That is a great effort - I once started training for a Marathon when I was 19 and fit and it didnt take long to decide it was far too difficult so I have the greatest respect for anyone who actually goes and does one - that time is pretty impressive too as for the football now its over that was one of the greatest games I have been to in a long time probably the best post admin league performance - the way the team played and the way the crowd roared the players on - that took me back to the great times of the Wilson Hunter and Clarke promotion teams never seen anything like it in a relagation scrap We just need one more superhuman effort from the players and the fans
Well done Mrs Jay. Brilliant cause, they're doing so much for my god-daughter at the moment and have for the last 5 years. I know they need every penny they can get.
