Fairly entertaining game but the quality of football is definitely down several notches too tired to write a full report but the following comments Davis made some decent saves but doesn't command the box at all and his kicking is worse than Steeles was Defence dreadfull at dealing with crosses every time they put a cross in they got the first header and could easily have had more Hopefully Turnbull can sort out things a bit but really we could do with Mvoto in there especially if Turnbull still injured on Saturday will exclude Dudgeon from my defensive moan he had a good game much better than Brown Hourihane pick of the midfield Treacy drifted in and out, Berry too lightweight. I thought Digby did better in Midfield when he came on though nothing spectacular up front Early days but I fear Winnall is turning into a poor mans Dagnall, Lita did absolutely nothing all game except score a goal young Cole looks promising He is Quick and I mean really quick and has some skill as well He could be a useful player until Jan happy with a point probably on balance a fair result. Could do with a win on Saturday to move us into the top half
Just got back as well. I think that's fair, although I'm perhaps marginally more positive than you. They should obviously never have scored their first and, as you say, we looked suspect from crosses. But I thought we played well in the second half and could probably have nicked it, though that may have been slightly unfair on them. The most pleasing thing for me is that we seem to be bouncing back well after going behind, both at Crewe at the weekend and tonight. Just needs some tidiness at the back (hopefully this will come with Turnbull) and a bit more understanding between our players in the middle of the park and we'll be all right. I can't complain too much - two away matches, four points and we didn't lose to Coventry! Quick isn't quite the word for Cole - he's terrifying. Really shook things up in there, and it'll be nice to see him on a little bit earlier in the future.
Winnall just needs a bit of time. With a record like his just imagine what a bit of confidence could do from the fans. It's strikers like this that we need to put our faith in and support cos he obviously knows where the net is. Sixfields is a bit different from the Ricoh innit
It's worrying that with the last 7 games of last season, 6 pre season games this season, plus three league games and a league cup match we've gone 17 games without a clean sheet since we played Brighton on April 5th. We've already conceeded six in four. It puts too much pressure on our front line who usually have to score multiple goals for us to stand a chance of getting three points.
