Its very very bad. A lot about the whole thing was strange. Strange second half. Stockport let us back into it by going really passive. I never really thought we would score but we did have some chances. Didnt feel like the outcome was ever in doubt but it felt like County let it get closer than it should have. Russell's headed attempts a joke. Really subdued away end even from the start of the game. Theres an awful lot of apathy around at the moment and i really fear for season ticket numbers if things don't change. Board are clowns, Head Coach is a muppet. 1 point from 5 matches. We're heading downhill very very fast.
Today was probably the most depressing away day this season for me. Horrible away end, our view of the pitch, the game, the mood amongst the fans, some leaving at half time. Final whistle couldn’t come quick enough.
Agree but to be fair to them, they probably got into the dressing room at half-time and started wetting themselves laughing at how bad we were in the first half. I can't stop envisioning Challinor putting up a pic of our back four on his coaching screen at half-time and his entire team then falling about laughing hysterically, 1970s Smash advert style.
How many years have we said that though, after the odd terrible mistake filled performance. That they don't look like they've met before kick off, and like they haven't been trained properly, etc. I'm not sure what the main reasons are today though, when our players can't even make short 5 yard passes to each other, and can't even take throw ins properly!.
No, I like my away days, and tbf to the team, we’ve been spoilt in recent years. Just a bit sobering to think that our away form might be dipping, as it’s what’s sustained us.
Spot on. I don't care anymore. However, I still enjoy day out and good company. So as much as I bleat on here and as crap as it is.... I'll still attend when my pocket and custody dictates. (Wouldn't subject George to this). Hopefully growing up in Rotherham his mates will be Rotherham, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday or United fans and he can enjoy football at those clubs. Be nobody prouder taking him to Oakwell but dont want him to have ridicule and shame at times I've had over years. Great moments few and far between although some would argue that's what makes it worth it. I'm rambling now .
I've never felt shame for supporting Barnsley. I've felt pride plenty of times. Disappointment a fair bit too but never shame.
Make sure he remains a Barnsley fan mate, he’s only a young un so plenty of time to see them have better days, ffs when I supported Barnsley at school we were only getting 2 n 3 thousand at Oakwell lol......keep the faith SD
Get him down to Oakwell Stephen he'll learn all about the highs and the lows and emotions that football brings to us all.
Maybe, just maybe they are scared sh1tless of DC and don't want to incur his wrath by making a mistake-hence the timid play?
That might be true, whether he tries to rule with an iron bar sort of, and they don't want to make mistakes etc. But after the way they behaved under Collins, I think some of them shouldn't even be footballers, especially if they are going to react like that.
