To be honest We weren't 4 better than Oldham - difference was we took our chances in that first 15 mins and they didn't really create much. Couldn't believe their fans singing "what a load of rubbish" after only 15 mins - not just us who are fickle then. Credit the ones who stayed though for their sense of humour and credit to our fans (well their was just a small section in Ponty, who made plenty noise. How did Nardiello get MotM though - if it wasn't for his selfishness we'd have had 2 or 3 more. Good performance throughout the side with particular credit to Shuker and Devaney
hee hee Conlon scores 1 goal in 9 games, the team don't score for 4 games, but Conlon gets loads of praise from EastStander. Conlon is dropped and Nardiello comes back in to the team, Nardiello scores one and the team get 4. The EastStander verdict: Nardiello at fault for us not getting 6 or 7.
RE: hee hee If you'd have gone you'd have seen what I meant - Hayes stood a few yards to the side of him unmarked and it just required a simple pass. The difference is that I think Conlon performs to his, limited, ability - Nardiello doesn't
Keep criticising him then We don't want players who score and a team that wins do we. We want toilers.
go ******** eaststander nardiello did a lot of off the ball running, had good efforts on goal and tracked back and defended too. i think you are getting nads confused with devaney. heres a clue for you, the one that kept having shots from ridiculous places while forwards were in a better position has longer black hair and has a 5 after the 2 on his back, not a 3. and conlon is *****. he would never have been in the position to score nads' goal or flick it on for shuker.

Come on twice in the last 5 mins Nads had the ball on edge of area with a simple pass on and he chose not to and then just moments after that he had the nerve to have a go at Devaney for not passing to him. And I'm not comparing Nads and Conlon, it was Jay who brought that up cause I was defending Conlon last week - I'd have Nads above Conlon but what I'm saying is that I wnat to see a player put 100% effort in whoever they are. Thought the substitution was wrong when he took Hayes off as Nardiello was looking like he'd get sent off as he kept chelping at the ref.
MOM No grumbles about Nardiello getting MOM. It could, imho, have been any of 3 or 4, Burns, Shuker and Devanney were well worthy of a mention, not forgetting Howard for his 60 minute contribution too. Nardiello doesn't always look to pass when he feels he has half a chance, but he aint alone in that one. Today his (and Hayes) movement were first class and we saw some quick incisive forward play as a result. Made one and scored one, it'll do for me. Agree about there not being too much difference between the sides - couldn't believe how poor Oldham were at the back, although the 'finishing' today was clinical. No Carbon second half, we MUST get that sorted next week. Some good passing at times, but none better than one from Wroe, late on, putting Devanney clear, one on one with the keeper. You're right about it could have been 6 or 7, perhaps on another day eh?
in the last 5 minutes nads was suffering from cramp he really should have been taken off instead of hayes because he was knackered and had cramp but he was still putting in the effort. he is a striker and if he sees a chance to shoot he takes it. you cannot fault his commitment today, maybe his decision making if you want to but not his commitment or effort
Thank goodness AM Iwas begining to think I was at a different match. We weren't 4 better, 6 or more would not have been unreasonable. Nads was MOM, worked unselfishly and took his goal well. Stupid booking though.
Play your best two strikers and supprisingly we are 3-0 up after 15 min. Howard looked promising in first half particularly.

RE: in the last 5 minutes nads was suffering from cramp or his ability. him and Hayes on the pitch at the same time give defenders real problems
playing nardiello over conlon was the big difference. not just because nardiello was playing though but because the other 10 men on the pitch dont just see a giant up the pitch and hit it long and hard every single time. Instead they get it down and play the ball spreading it around. we are a far better team without conlon than we are with him and i think that with nardiello and hayes, and richards and jarman as backup there is no need for barry conlon to ever grace the oakwell pitch again. ship him out on loan and get a defender in in his place
Aye. Crackin' goals, tall blonde lass in t' East wi tight jeans and reight arse, and got a wave off of Ronnie! Thought the chav's givin' Lidds stick are a bunch http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/images/emoticons/******.gif. But not as much as Ronnie!
