Cannot fault the team, we were better than them except for the first 15 mins or so of the second half. Odejayi did well when he came on despite groans from the reds fans (myself included) at his introduction. We didn;t test the keeper enough despite long periods of pressure and I think we miss a natural left winger. It evens itself out over the season as we didn't deserve to win against PNE and Blacky. Although we lost, tonight we looked like a top side, Macken was brilliant in first half but they got to grips with him in the 2nd, if only he would shoot more! Definitely cause for much optimism
Good to hear Seems we got done by a set piece again but I don't care we are still doing OK this season.
RE: Good to hear Just saying my opinion.. Very unlucky for none of our chances to go in, but Wendys had their share of open nets. Anderson was the best player for us, IMO. And.. is it just me that thinks Werling at left back?
Beg to differ We had alot of posession in 1st half. Start of 2nd they could have had 3. We never got going til last 10 mins. Their keeper was lucky with Deveanys shot from narrow angle, but other than that, we never looked like scoring. I think even the fans give up now when we go 1-0 down there. Once again we have lost to an average looking Wednesday side. If we'd have played like we did Vs Watford we'd have battered them.
Just got back.A mixture of bad luck and poor finishing cost us tonight.If we had scored Wednesday couldn't have complained.Overall a good team performance.
I really think that we never made our own luck tonight. Never got our passing game going. Our attacks were very Kamikaze. We were in control 1st half, and let a very poor side into the game. Funny thing is Wednesday fans have seen us twice on tv, and once in the flesh & think we are the worst team in the league. I think we have no grounds to complain tonight. We just didn't push them enough.
RE: Do we care when they think.? Well I do more than most because I live with an Owl, and I can't walk out of my door without being greeted by one. Tomorrow will bw hell. BUt in the big scheme of things, no I don't really care. I'm just disappointed we didn't give a good account of ourselves.
Well we have two wingers thatdidn'tput a decent ball into the box, Stan was losing the battle against his marker, Kaydee did his job in that he won the ball in the air, Da Silva was outstanding but he doesn't have to try to play the killer pass or the trick in midfield every time, he got caught out a couple of time near the end of the game. Macken has the finest touch of any player I've seen at Oakwell in a very very long time. Werling... works very hard but please let Kosluk be fit very soon. </p> However, team spirit first class and effort excellent I think we did deserve a draw and we battered them for the last 15 minutes.</p> Overall I'm coming to the conclusion that we will never win at Hillsbro so I will take comfort that 3 points against some other team is just as valuable as against them. </p> </p>
