After deciding at 2.20 to actually go to the game. Coulson changed the game I was very surprised how much of an impact he was gonna have. I thought without pulling up too many trees, both Kayode and Miguel played really well - more effort in both than we've seenfrom Stan of late.
Not a great performance from us but at least we are in the hat for the 4th round. But what happened to Muller? I thought Letheren did fine overall after showing signs of early nerves.

Bad Performance, Terrific Result... I was surprised Coulson didn't start after his superb display at Scnuthorpe, but when he finally entered the fray - he was superb, full of running and his finish was absolutely brilliant - not easy either. My man of the match was Steve Foster, a rock at the back and a great back heeled finish for his goal. Souza for me had a shocker, he was at fault for the goal, trying to let the ball go out only for Taylor-Fletcher to nod it back into play. Van Homoet looks pretty good going forward, but his defending looks shaky. Letheren came on for Muller and after a few nervous moments, had a solid game. Odejayi was superb today, full of running, held the ball up well and just needs a goal i think at this point. Mostto played well too, had a few shots on goal and was unlucky not to score with one. It wasn't a good performance by any means, but in the cup - the result is all that matters. Well done Reds. The 4th round beckons. Also - well done to Blackpool, I thought they played really well today, without really causing us too many problems. Hoolahan (when he FINALLY came on) was a nightmare, anyway... UP THE REDS!! SUPER MICKY COULSON!!
Ah, glad thats all it was, cheers. Hope its not serious tho. Judging by that one performance, Coulsen can definately cut it imo. If it's true that he was also really good against Scunny, then there's no reason that it's just a flash in the pan - hopefully anyway. I thought Howard was quite poor tho - mentally mainly. Blaming other players for his errors - had a verbal with JCR, Hassell and Devaney - and thats just the ones I saw. All three were imo his own fault.
Howard blamed other players for his mistakes, but he was superb today. Some of the passes he made, blocks he made and runs he made were brilliant. Some players do criticise others and he was wrong, but he played very well today.
Yeah mate, mentally was my main criticism tbh. I thought there were definately better players on the team, but he weren't among the worst. It was just his attitude that was lacking, in blaming others for his mistakes.
I agree with the attitude issues - he seemed to single out Mostto for dogs abuse in the first half in particular. Thought he drove us on today and kept us trying to play football - culminating in great link up for the winner.
