Well well well....not much I can say that no doubt hasn't already been said. But here's my thoughts...

Davey picked the team I dare say everyone would've gone with (Ok, maybe Kozluk for Tininho?) so in that sense did nothing wrong.

First half...they scored a decent goal to be fair, but we played some nice stuff at times, had a few chances, managed to cause them a few problems (Perhaps if the lino wasn't so flag happy, things might have been different at half time score wise). We were knocking the ball out quite well and I though Leon, Macken, and De Silva especially were linking up quite well...Nards made some good runs, but couldn't quite get him through. Howard showed a few decent touches, but soon faded...

So 1-0 and all to play for. Or so I thought...

Second half, Devaney on for JCR who presumably was injured after going down first half (and getting a torrent of abuse from the home fans). We just never got going, we couldn't keep the ball, real lack of movement, lack of bite, lack of challenges going in. I know it was his first game, but Warner looked VERY shaky, defence didn't seem to have much confidence in him.

Not sure why, but Leon was replaced, when it seemed obvious Howard should have gone, he wasn't performing well (any by all accounts hasn't impressed lately - hasn't looked himself anyway).

Then of course the 'incident' between Howard and Sousa...I noticed before Howard was mouthing off a bit at a few players when he needed to look at his own performance. From what I was told...Howard pushed Sousa in the back, and then they had a bit of a go at each other...not exactly the actions of a captain.

Not really any positives to take, though I thought Lewin played reasonably well as did Foster, although the defence couldn't cope with their pace upfront. Macken yet again made everything stick to his foot before laying off a simple ball, although second half he was starved of any service. Decent following today as well, though notably hardly any of the players clapped the fans...besides (I think) Foster, Lewin, Anderson de Silva.

All in all...very disappointing day out

so what you're saying is that the wrong team selections were made

ie davey took the wrong player off and left howard on again

Good in depth review was that. Davey didn't pick the team I would have. I wouldn't have changed a side after two clean sheets in a row. The ones dropped will wonder what they have done to deserve it and the ones put in will wonder how they earned the right. Howie shouldn't be squaring up to team mates. Maybe his own inept performances are getting to him. Surprised you can praise so many of our defenders after letting in four lol. But you were there fella. 742 unhappy away fans going home. Warner sounded horrible.

I think he started the best 11 (besides maybe Kozzy as said before)...but when Howard wasn't performing, he should've made way. Just can't see the captain being dropped unfortunately.

Nardiello seems well off the pace. he was poor on Tuesday and inneffective today by the sound of it. I trust Davey to sort it.

Problem was, defenders weren't confident infront of a new keeper, and it showed. Warner was at fault for the last 2 goals, and it was poor defending all round for the second.

I thought when Nards stuck it in the net...he wasn't offside. Macken had a decent attempt...but I agree we didn't trouble the keeper really at all.

I was quite impressed by him again, he shows good touches, a willingness to attack with pace, seems to notice runs quite well, but coudln't always find a man.

That said, he's\not a left winger, kept cutting inside, leaving us no outlet on the left as such. I'd like to see him in the middle

    Completely agree

Defenders didn't have a clue what Warner was going to do next.

I said Leon was not a winger on Tuesday

If he is going to play, he should be in the middle, play Howard on left.

On today's showing, provided JCR is fit, play Howard on the bench with Disco and JCR out wide with Anderson and Leon in central midfield.
