and seen some really good snooker.
Doherty vs Hawkins and King vs Maguire. At the same times on the other table were Parrott vs Dott and Carter vs Lee.

Doherty vs Hawkins Wasn't it 8-1 without a single decent break? Doesnt sound too entertaining. I love going to the Crucible, haven't been for a while.
RE: Doherty vs Hawkins Correct. Not one single decent break. But if thats all you class as a good game, then so be it. The all round game was good, but far from a classic. Doherty safety IMO was excellent at times.
RE: I used to get offered complimentary tickets but never took them up. This year £10 for 1st round matches. Ranging upto £45 for the final session of the Final.
Complimentaries eh! What a waste! Send some in my direction mate!

my claim to fame here!!!! I finished ranked 25th http://www.eaba.co.uk/rankings/worldProfessionalRankingList2002-03.html
Who'd you fancy to win it Cain? After the 10-9 win against Higgins the other week, I have a sneaky feeling for Williams. Only sneaky enough for me to put £2 on it, but at 10-1, figured it was worth a shot.
RE: Who'd you fancy to win it Cain? Thats a bloody good question mate........
Dont take advice from me because I had Higgins down to win it, and Stephen Lee to do well. He was lucky to go through. But the best player i have seen so far is Graham Dott. Cant see him being far off this year. But with Williams due to meet Ronnie in the quarters, one of the favourites will drop. Would also be nice to see the young guns Michael Holt, Ryan day and Mark Selby do very well.
So as far as my current prediction goes, I cant see past Ronnie, but then again everyone says him. So I'll go with Williams like you mate. Good luck with that.
EDIT: Also forgot to mention that after watching Maguire yesterday, he seems to have the nerve to really do something this year. Very confident guy, but I dont really like him. Seems very smarmy. I could be wrond though.

yeh im with you i like to see a good tight frame as big breaks are good but boring as there is no pressure once the frame is won. a good tactical battle with about 40 each on the board thats the good stuff!
i'll go for Ken Doherty for no particular reason other than he seems to be suited to the longer games in the world championships and because as you say everyone goes for ronnie
RE: yeh im with you nice one mate. A proper good scrap, with mistakes from either side means that these players are human afterall. It can be very boring seeing the same players putting in high breaks every frame. Kind of like a big server in tennis, banging aces down here, there and everywhere. Its effective but not really a game of tennis. Thats why Agassi is so popular.
well put nobody remember the finals where the last frame was won with a 100+ break. The ones that come right down to the nitty gritty stick in your mind. As for the tennis nothing worse than ace after ace, make them go back to wooden rackets
