I am more than happy with the performance. First team playing and we more than held our own, were the far better side and played some good football, it got so bad for them I began to feel sorry for Heskey,we had him well and truly sewn up. McIndoe's goal was pure class. He started turning away to celebrate before the goal went in, there was no way it was going to be saved and I recon he knew it the minute it left his boot. Hard to give a man of the match it was a great team performance. AR made his mass subs and instead of Wigan coming into the match the young un's kept up the pace and performance... Ok so we lost in the last minute or so but that was one of most entertaining games I've been to in a while.. Word is we will have a striker before Sat (inf.from Exec) but I am not convinced.
Totally agree - the first team played some lovely stuff and was on top for most of the first 70 minutes. Wigan only got into the game when Ritchie rightly started takingstarting players off, and even then the second string gave as good asthey got. Only 3 first teamers on the pitch when they got their winner. Forget the result - an entertaining evening and very heartening for all who saw it. IF - big IF - we can play like that consistently we've nowt to worry about.
That'd be an interesting documentary Bolton red mates match.
What would be the consequence of that relationship?
Peter Crouch?

3600 - odd... ...with a couple of hundred from Wigan who leapt up and down like they'd won the Cup when they got their winner.
Judging from the commentary . . . . . . it sounded like Coulson did well against him in the potential penalty incident. What was your view of this having actually seen it?
RE: Lost transmission somewhere over Woodhead looked a sure penalty from where i was, lad got shoved over. also their last goal was taken from a fast free kick ten yards towards the wing from where it should have beem which led to the quick cross and goal. that really pissed me off.
RE: 3600 - odd... They brought more than they did for that league Cup tie when they won 1-0.. 140 that day.... Incidentally; a certain David Speedie made his debut for us against Wigan in 1978 ---- and he hit the bar! Soz... It's the Cognac!
