4 years ago I went to the University of Hull to study a degree in Economics for 3 years plus a year in industry working at Vauxhall Motors as a buyer in Luton. Today I got my results and I got a 2.1 which means I now have a graduate job lined up down in Stevenage for the next 2 years at least. It's been the best experience of my life by a mile, uni life offers you so much with great mates and a chance to study something that interests you for that long. I was lucky to live in Hull, although it gets much criticism I didn't have any issues at all there, it's a great place with a lot of good people that are very friendly, although the accent's a bit f'cking annoying. Same can't be said about Luton, that's a massive shithole and the people are arseholes. Anyway I'm over the moon today and I go to Majorca for a week tomorrow, even the reds can't bring me down
Only because they aren't playing. Congratulations btw. What was your overall average? I ended up with 68.75% so while I was chuffed with a 2.1 there was part of me that was gutted I was so close to a 1st. Welcome to the working world too, those happy uni days will soon be forgotten.
That's really unlucky, surprised you didn't get moved up a boundary with that grade. I got 62.3% overall I think, so not near a first but comfortable enough. Only needed 56% from my final year and got 60%, just happy to get the 2.1 though.
Well Done! University was the best experience for me too. What is Stevenage like? On Wikipedia it says it is very urbanised with lots of cycleways. Will you be able to escape from the seething throngs easily?
Well done kid. Hope all goes well for you down south, but try and remember those less fortunate who remain over in Hull. Me & Fraser will keep the red flag flying in your absence!
one less sponging workshy student off the books i guess plenty more to take your place though hope this helps
Congrats pal. I've lived in Stevenage 8 years although spend my weekends in Halifax now I'm due to be married. Totally agree about Luton. Stevenage isn't the greatest but my recommendation is buy a flat as it has amazing links to london (20 mins on train), schools are improving, and is one of the most affordable places to live in Hertfordshire. Also it's getting improved reputation for industry aerospace etc. Football teams **** mind. But nice little ground.
